  1. if you know where the wind is blowing to, the opposite of that is where its blowing from. i dont see the point?
  2. i agree. Get rid of fleets. It would put more priority on in-game cooperation with other players. No one is successful without the help of others.
  3. I like all of this except i think the name should be randomized, and you should only be able to re-name a ship if it changes national owner. I know private citizens can name their own ships IRL, but to my knowledge ship captains were not able to re-name the property of their nations. Perhaps pirates could have the option with limits on people naming ships crude or ridiculous names I.E "Pussy Destroyer" because I guarantee someone would-that someone being me I think we should have to ability to personalize ship but within reasonable restraints that would exist within the navy.
  4. i think it would be neat if every ship 5th rate or better, had a randomly generated name. this seems like it would be a simple addition and would personalize your ship.. in the unlikely event that your ship was captured, then re-captured, it would be pretty neat. random generation would be better than people naming their own ships so you wouldnt get people choosing names like "pussy destroyer". thanks for reading.
  5. no nerfs. let the game play out as it will play out.
  6. thats why i said it would help people doing trading to evade attackers. I think it would just force players to think about there decisions to attack or not attack more. changing the winds would change the migration patters of players. This would create more defined trade routes that could be targeted by hunters. It also could be loosely modeled off real life patters, allow for wind shifts that would enable more routes. I think the current wind is silly. There is no wind anywhere in the world that acts like it does in the game. Like i said initially: the weather plays a major role in sailing. I think it should in the game as well. The weather should have greater influence on in-game decision making.
  7. i think that because weather plays such an important role in sailing, it should have a more dynamic and real mechanics and look. here are my suggestions: 1. wind direction should be moddled from real life patterns, not just shifting around in a circle. this could create trade routes/ prioritize some ports over others and have an interesting influence on the economy. 2. storms should move across the map, not just appear and disappear. 3. storms should have a more realistic appearance. sailing into a storm should be seen from miles away (towering dark cumulonimbus clouds) this could be used to evade attackers plus it would look really cool. thanks for reading.
