  1. OFF TOPIC: but kind of relevant. having seen the hugging the side method to defeat the LGV here I wanted to see if this would be an Achilles heel for other larger ships. cue.. constitution vs privateer For the most part is was almost too easy. connie only fired the broadside at me once in the whole 30 min fight and thankfully so as that nearly ended me
  2. maybe throw some RNG in with a chance of regaining a refit or perm upgrade fitted to ship?
  3. I think the area in which you need to be to loot needs to be extended a little. sometimes it is frustrating trying to get a ship turned in time to 180 back on yoursrelf to try get close when you were already stupidly close.
  4. find port that is on the map line, sail i block away and check trader tool distance to that port i guesstimate 30km
  5. is the the case for all the rare trade goods needed for refit? can all be got with chance from npc loot?
  6. quantity or places where some of the items (Grietje van Dijk for example) need to be increased or added to NPC loot. next to impossible to get it and the dutch have a "producing" port next door.
  7. the market needs to seriously lower sell price of items when market is flooded and buy is at 1. I see places that have 1000+ iron fittings so buy is at 1 yet sell is over 1k a piece which is crazy money. how do you expect anyone to buy?
  8. Is there a way to disable the double tap to auto lock rudder? gets annoying in battle trying to make quick movements and it sticks on.
  9. staysail on privateer most certainly does make a difference from what I see
  10. So I have noticed that it seems on the last broadside load of double shot it alot of times will randomly fire at higher elevation than aimed. even if you single shot to check aim that is usually ok but then the immediate remaining salvo shoots way higher than aimed. also to this on some occasions broadside loadout does not automatically make the change from double shot/charge back to ball when it has been consumed it will just sit on the side at 0 until manually set to ball, grape, etc.
  11. im unsure if splitting the rum will stop all being consumed at once. and im not prepared to waste anymore trying xD
  12. Well if its gonna repair crew that are not on the ship like that it should at very least let you decide how many not just consume a whole stack of rum
  13. anyway, I wanted to double check this and again with only 8 crew missing from 60 crew boat the repair crew on OW button consumed a whole stack onboard of 33 rum to repair another 33 men. what 33 men?
  14. Crew repair seems to be bugged when used in OW. it will consume your whole stack of rum on board repairing some imaginary men and your crew amount on boat will remain the same. Now the reason this came to light was I had just came out of misson and went to repair armor so I could continue but accidently hit crew and since there is no warning it insta-consumed my whole stack onboard of 36 rum to repair 36 men. what 36 men? im on a 60 man boat which was only missing 7 after the previous fight. my crew did not go back to full either. filling crew on OW is easily done just by manage crew where you can magically populate your boat with the extent of crew you have available in any port so repair crew in OW seems pointless beyond the fact bugged.
  15. the game is becoming oppressive in the fight against exploits. Its sad.
  16. werent the blueprints very briefly changed to PVP marks rather than conquest marks some time last week? probably they took advantage of that mess up?
  17. reward for beating player and capturing his ship. I mean we should get a PVP mark imho, you beat a player and got his ship, PVP happened. reward it? I know the reply is the ship is the prize... but it would be nice to have something achieved beyond just the boat. What about melee based stuff in the store need a capture mark for instance? its relevant to how the mark would have been gotten after all.
  18. I don think its so much to do with a gang of small ships taking a larger one. Its the fact that the basic cutter is completely free to buy, arm and repair and then even if you beat it you gain nothing from it as no pvp marks for basic cutter battle to close another possible exploit of these ships. all reward for no risk at all. Even though economy and player progress is still in its infancy with the wipe even down the road I could see basic cutter zergs becoming a meta for harassing close to capitals, and when you think about it why wouldn't they? potentially all reward with no risk, cost, nada.
  19. agree on restriction of basic cutters being used in PVP. They simple have too much advantage for zero risk. not good.
  20. Ive had 2 6pds in loot from an NPC ship and only the once. I think they should be a more common loot from ships atleast.
  21. So maybe its just me but I hate how when you look around with the telescope once you return to normal camera view it doesn't correspond to where you had been looking through the telescope and this can make it difficult to re-discover something you seen with the telescope.
