Naval Action ports need a complete rework.

Minecraft was being used in this pointless discussion as an example like the other games mentioned, of a game that is not visually appealing yet still sells very well based upon content. I assume you would rather see like any of the sensible part of the community more content towards pvp, pve, crafting, and trading. Not to mention a completed UI.

Naval Action ports need a complete rework.

BS to your BS. There have been games that have sold very well and are absolute not notch graphically. Minecraft, Terria, Crusader Kings II, Rise of Nations, Eve, Mount & Blade, etc. I really could go on to prove my point. Games that have done very successful based upon their CONTENT supporting @Christendom statement and not based upon their subpar graphics of their day and still hold through test of time in sales.

Naval Action ports need a complete rework.

Graphically the game holds up pretty damn well for its age. The game has more pressing matters at hand than enviromental graphics.

    Newbie clans

I get the lonely part. That is why I been keeping in contact with the few new players that even after that degen Raxious and pcp clan ganking outside Ct stick around I will message them every day to see how theyre doing and answer any questions they have. If they stick around long enough and show improvement I will send a clan invite.

    Gameplay Intervention (Little River)

I was talking to @Banished Privateer, child. Someone even though through all the crap he has done to the US over hurt egos, I still have some respect for. I do not care for your opinions kiddo simply because you and your lot have never really brought anything to the table worth mentioning that is for the improvement of the game or this community. Banished has at least done something to help this game out and does have a better understanding of aspects of this games community and individuals. That is why players from ARMED have joined up with him. Now I may not agree with Banished on many aspects and beliefs on what this game should be but I still have respect for his opinion and other members of ALOHA. Hell, I will even talk to King of Crowns since I still have respect for him to some degree which is more than what I assume majority of US players have. King of Crowns came to help the Poles in their time of need which is more than I can say for many. They both have a better understanding of the impact their actions could place upon a population and gameplay of this game and know when to change or continue the course they are on.

    Gameplay Intervention (Little River)

A few of those nations you mention have two capital ports with a vast distance in between them. This breaks down the concentration of enemies at one single capital region. Now as you also stated Danmark and Sweden. Yes, they are surrounded by capture ports. Difference is their non-capture ports are concentrated in a dense area making almost the entire area relatively safe. United States is stretched across an entire coast line which spans a far vast distance than the reinforcement zone. Another good example of the density of their area and how it benefits them is back when hostility could only be grind through attacking attacking AI fleets. For that entire Eastern region of the map it was very easy because you rarely had to go far or long to run into any ships to attack. Unlike the Dutch who would spend a long time to come across an ai fleet they could hit to grind hostility. Frankly, I dont care if they make a few ports down south of that coast able to be captured. It is odd to see a port like little river in the middle of their reinforcement zone be able to be captured.
  7. Onion Knights Onion Knights is going to be a very simple US clan based upon how I originally intended my previous clans would be, but never got the chance because of the size of the nations they were in. Clan Attributes PvP and Crafting Focused Become and maintain a midsize clan Come together for resources and on rare occasion clan activities Remove oneself and have minimal concern with player based politics Help others who are willing to receive help Rules and Requirements Do not do or say anything that will reflect poorly upon the clan. Basically don't be an ass. Must be able to speak English. Exceptions can be made. Have Teamspeak and Discord App. Contribute to the collection of resources for clan crafting. Able to work both individually and in a group. If you are sick of the player based politics dictating certain aspects of this game to you, tired of being just another cog or being just a number in a larger clan, or simply tired of playing by oneself with very little interaction with other players then consider joining the Onion Knights. To join contact Davos Seasworth either via the forums or in the game, preferably in-game.

    Open world UI feedback (2018)

Took a quick look at the UI this morning before heading out to work. My only complaint which is nothing huge is how the chat looks undeveloped and out of place. Nice to see some scaling options down the road as well. That is all. Additional note: In the map window it would be nice to see the menu and the hover over port window to be worked on as well.

    Player Ship Selection Poll 2018?

Let them finish the actual game first and the other ships they stated they will work on. Once those are complete ask for more in-game content and more ships. With more ships hopefully content for RvR, PvP, and even crafting will have a stronger variety than what we have now where there has become in many clans certain ships you must bring to participate and still be competitive.

    [ONION] Onion Knights (US Caribbean)

Will join if invited any council. Does not mean however that we will abide by any of their "restrictions." I have been coming up their coasts. Yes they do.

Patch 25: Open world user interface update.

Looking to be a far better patch than I expected. Hopefully it can bring back some players that are waiting to come back and some people that were waiting to purchase the game till it was more visually pleasing.

    Caribbean Invasion News

The issue with this game is for the new and casual player to expand beyond their capital area and this attraction these capital areas have for large hunting fleets. These large hunting fleets or more correctly consistent hunting around the capital regions where new and casual players are locating have not helped the servers population. This is not the complete faults of the experienced hunters who are only going where there is a high chance of a battle to occur. It is also not the faults of the casual and new players for staying in those said regions which they start from, resources/trading are located, and quick means of entertainment against ai and rewards. The game development needs to solve some of these issues. One individual stated making the capitals less of a trade hub where you can take goods from and sell for high prices but rather make them places where you can sell goods at removing the desire of holding that as a permanent outpost. Spread those trade resources out. Remove the reinforcement zones. They are not useful. Otto said it best where the only reliable protection is another player. If the devs want to make a protected area for these new and casual players like they probably should do they need to create a certain zone around the capital where PvP is not possible and that PvE rewards are only experience and limited gold. Just an idea quickly mashed together for this post. Majority of games similar to Naval Action have such a thing that divides the PvE sections from PvP. Do not agree it should be as significant as most of those games but there needs to be something. There also needs to be a better incentive for these new and casual players to move out from the capital areas such as better RNG in crafting, better resources, better content, etc. This would reduce the contact of the hunters around the capital regions and actually help the growth of the server and potentially see vacant parts of the map populated slightly if not significantly depending on the increased value of those regions. Also another idea since I was interrupted mid-writing of this and just started rambling losing my place, I apologize, is have players activity in areas be more of a significant impact of the values of ports and definitely fix taxes which has hurt RvR for a lot of people.

Agree to a point. Maximum benefit for maximum risk part I agree with you. Tuck best trader in US I disagree with. He was a good trader. He has gotten better the past few months.

Lol! If you want a "great battle" go attack Sweden, Danmark, or even Espana for that matter. They will actually make an attempt to sink you guys rather than just focus on bogging their opponents down and that is all. These US players did in their mix mess of ships was follow a man with no competent battle calling experience or leadership. Some of us were wanting a good fight but saw not everyone had the same idea and broke off from the battle. Including myself who wanted a good fight last night and had to settle for being ganked just to sink one player. So if you want a "great battle" that is competitive then the US coast during a port battle is not the place at this moment. We have lost enough players from this game to farming and the last thing we need is a enemy port even closer.

    Lost ship due to disconnect

Was there in that said Santisma. The disconnect was not the part that killed him. When the disconnect occurred, if it even did occur, Boom ship was behind mine and I had to turn my Santi around after I had been lowering my sails previously in a attempt to stop him from stern camping. By the time I was able to turn around and get half my side on him he was back. He had multiple chances to get away and a few chances where his fellow captains such as Xsyter were able to shield him but failed to do so completely and I was able to get a few cannonballs into him to finish him off. I am my only witness since I doubt any of the French players will speak the truth if it means one of their own have their ship return to them and there were no other US players in the battle. If Boom does get his Ingermanland back I would like to have my Santisma back @Ink. Fair is fair.

Name 5 things you would like to see in NA

A lot of what you stated I agree with. It has become a hindrance to a nation when they cannot leave their capital because they have to constantly spend their time there dealing with enemy players not to mention rather than spreading things out through the map, having the ability to have combat next to a capital places majority of player activity to small sections of the map, not to mention hurts the game overall by aggravating and pushing away new and casual players who are constantly being harassed every day by enemy players at the capitals which is the only location where most of them starting out can make gold via trading. Not to mention the battles that are created around capitals tend to be lopsided or a group of experienced players vs. inexperienced and unorganized groups which does not create good content. 1. what Vazco stated 2. more OW content. Currently the game is very dry. You really only can do a few things such as PvP, PvE, and trading just to name a few. There is a lack of variation to create extended retention in a players interest which is needed for such a game. Have monthly events or free DLC campaign like content drop four times a year or something. Create interest in a game do not let it get stale and rot. 3. Removal of the three new nations and make Pirates the only hardcore nation. Been saying it for a while even while being apart of one of those three said nations. Prussia right now is a prime example of what Pirates should be in the final product. 4. I do not care or want to see name or clans back in OW, but I do want to see what a fleet has in it. Right now the game looks like it went backwards when it comes to identifying an enemy player and needs to be improved with letting the players know what a person has in their fleet since we cannot identify those ships by looking at a player in OW. 5. More control by clans concerning ports and other clan items of attention.

    [Caribbean] the state of pvp

Completely agree and understand. I look at this upcoming patch as well and it does not even look like it will keep me in the game very long either since it does not really address much.
  19. Davos Seaworth

    [Caribbean] the state of pvp

Exactly. There is a lack of retention for new and casual players and too much from the current player base and lack of content that tends to drive them away. It becomes a constant grind and die fest for the majority of them which obviously over time is exhausting and frustrating.

    Boarding + 'Determined Defender' suggestion

I would not call it much of an argument when the majority of the participants agree.

    [Caribbean] the state of pvp

A lot of the "coast guard" stuff that occurs is reactionary and not planned out. At least in the United States and in Great Britain for my year tenure, there is no strict doctrine of sorts concerning a first response towards farmers. It tends to be whomever is in the general area at the time who is able to be mustered and there is very little organization in forming up. Why should there be anyways? Majority of these people around the capital regions are just looking for NPC targets as a means to grind slots, casual play, or training, along with people simply trying to build up their economy and resources to potentially push out of the capital region and do some PvP hunting of their own or other activities of such nature. Unfortunately, they tend not to have the time nor chance to do so. Majority of the people looking for PvP or are worth a challenge are not anywhere near their own capitals but instead looking elsewhere hunting.

    [Caribbean] Great battle results.

Compared to how bad they were splitting up and leaving them before, yeah it is an improvement much like Texas said.
  23. Davos Seaworth

    Boarding + 'Determined Defender' suggestion

Agreed with Privateer and I am not a person that likes to board one bit, choosing to sink my targets with metal and fire. The determined defender perk is just too strong of a perk especially for how much it costs. It does need to be altered where it still helps in preventing rage boarding but is not a determining factor where it can prevent boarding as much as it currently does.

It was not up to those players criticizing Rax about a "fair fight." Why should we waste our time?

    The Free State of VCO

It was not just the devs mate that "ruined it." Players had a good hand in the progressing in some cases retrogress the state of the game and its player base.
