  1. hi never had seen this before. was in a 2nd lieutenant mission against a rookie brig and rookie snow. I started by focusing my fire power on the rookie brig to sink it quick (sailing a Niagara with carrornades) sunk the rookie brig, looted it and gained a basic small upgrade (cant remember as it was so quick) proceeded to attack the rookie snow (of which I had put a few shots in previously) but then was suddenly presented with the entering port screen. I had loads of amour on all sides (more than 75%) and no leaks and had only lost a small amount of crew. was not sinking at all. had a quick chat with Hende Hoh when this happened and suggested I post it here. the battle finished around 18:55 it was sw of Old providence and as a result was moved to port San Andres. My Niagara was a oak/oak build with about 40 of hull/rig/rum repairs on board. very strange? have no idea why it happened. hope this helps or shows up an issue. been playing this everyday for nearly 2 years. love it! found a good of guys I play with and socialize with now. Thanks Gav
  2. Thanks for your replies. All working again. Was a simple uninstall and reinstall naval action that worked. See you on the seas.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall fixed it for me thanks.
  4. Thanks mate. I'll try that.
  5. Hi I need some help. Normally steam downloads the updates automatically but today it's not doing anything. Update is queued ( the only game preparing to d/l) I've tried all the suggestions from the error link but nothing. Error reads; an error occurred while updating naval action ( content still encrypted) if I uninstall naval action and reinstall will that mean I loose my yacht. Anyone have this problem before. New to me
  6. Little suggestion I'd like to see... Attacking enemy traders (ai or player) to effect material supply's Not sure if this is how things work now after ports no longer produce materials and is now all player based. But think it would add a good element to the game, A) do ai traders transport materials/parts between ports? does attacking these traders effect the ports by taking away the materials destined for those ports? If not, I think this could be a good element to the game. 1) you could starve the enemy of mats to produce ship/parts to help win an area. 2) newer players can attack ai traders and feel like they are contributing to the war efforts. 3) you could add escorting ai traders for gold/ % of goods. This tactic has been done in many wars such as subs sinking ships on world wars to starve enemy of supply's . Just an idea. Please respond if these have been implemented already as I'm unsure like many if ai traders are just random or actually make a difference. Please feel free to post any opinion on this topic as I would like to hear what anyone else has to say on this. By the way devs keep up the great work, really good to see a team wanting to make changes to improve and develop the game. Never seen so much commitment for a game before. ( not sucking up. Just my true congrats ) Since when? Thought the best ships was 3/5 upgrades or is this since the update? I'm confused. I have 3/5 ships. They are the only ones I keep. The rest I sell.
  7. I know it's only a small thing but a background picture of each tabs and sound when import will make it look a whole lot better. Being a small thing it would take much just to add something other than blank background and silence. Also icon pictures of materials rather than just writing in squares. As I said small thing and not part of the mechanics if the game I know but would give a big effect when in port. Ie home screen actually shows your type of ships in dock. Shop shows some kind of shop market shot. Craft shows a ship building yard, ect. Music and/or sound effects could be added to this simply too.
  8. I've been playing for some time now. Thought I would put a suggestion forward to prevent/hinder 1 faction or a couple of alley factions from 1) taken over an entire map and 2) taking over all ports of a rival faction/nation. Firstly increase flag cost the more ports that the attack faction has. Every port won by that faction means the next flag will cost more. (The more ports your faction has the more the flags cost to buy for the port battle) so maybe a certain % is added. Side note to this, (when diplomacy is introduced) this could include all alley factions ports too. Secondly add more Cost to the flag against a nation/faction when they have fewer ports than the attacking nation and the fewer ports (the defender nation) has the higher the cost of there port flag. Flag cost x ?% of attackers current ports divided by defenders current ports. I think my valuations are right in that using that formula each flag cost more the more ports you have but cost even more against a faction with fewer ports. I hope that makes sense. Also if in future alley deplomancey and official allies are introduced, these could by added into the equation too.
