  1. So you won't loose any buildings/ships/items in that port if it changes owners then I take it? I for one am glad that I might finally get to participate in a port battle since I never did that on PVP.
  2. PVE: Very interested in what will happen to things in our warehouse/ships that are docked etc. in ports that are turned neutral or neutral ports that are captured by another nation in PVE, just nice to know if I should get my stuff out of a port that's going to be attacked etc. or if it's safe.
  3. Is there any word on how the AI-agression will work other than the raids? Will huge fleets of 1st rates chase my small frigate, will a lone cutter attack my indy etc.? Would be nice to hear a little about how it's supposed to work so one can prepare for it.
  4. Here's the Diana-paints, Will upload some other paintjobs soon. (sun went down ingame so it's not a good time for screenshots)
  5. Sounds very nice! I agree with some others here though that I hope we get to choose the volume for the voices separately. It would indeed get annoying after a few months of playing, haha.
  6. Larger merchant vessels would be very nice! Imagine the rush seeing a really large and loaded merchant on the horizon.
  7. I would like to see some way to show the compass relative to the way the camera is pointing rather than where the ship is pointing (for instance to easily see which direction an island or ship is etc.). Another thing I would love to see is closed gun-ports while travelling in Open Word, I think that would be great for immersion. (an animation of the ports opening and guns rolling out when attacking would be cool as well, but maybe not worth the time and effort)
  8. Right now I've started listening to the Aubrey/Maturin audiobooks read by Patrick Tull. It gets me in the mood! haha. Listening to the Master & Commander soundtrack is suitable as well, although after listening to it several times it gets a bit repetetive.
  9. I agree with Destraex, some basic navigational tools for the map would be great to have and would make a lot of sense to have. A good captain wouldn't just look at the map and change the ships course using just his eyes for measurement. You'd still have to figure out where you are etc. and you can still veer off course of your'e not careful. It would also be nice if you could place your own markers on the map to remember certain things etc. It would also give you something nice and cozy to do while sailing. I also hope that the map will look more like a real map from that time eventually, that would get you into the atmosphere more.
  10. If/when more advanced weather is implemented it would be lovely to have a barometer you could check to see how the weather seems to be shifting. Even better would be to add a function to gently knock on it to make sure the pointer is correct, haha. (that last part might not be necessary)
  11. As many have already mentioned, it would be lovely to have a bit of an older aestethic to the interface, it doesn't have to be all clutter-y with wooden colours all over the screen, but more wooden colours and textures in it would be nice, and a compass etc. that looks more like it's from that time. The same goes for the map, not sure what's planned here but having a map that actually looks like a naval map from that age would make my mouth water! (oh, and St. Vincents inferface concept was bloody beautiful!)
  12. As a previous poster mentioned, more ambient sounds would be great such as seagulls etc. (if possible maybe even add some seagulls and other seabirds flying around the ship, would give some more life to OW).
  13. Not sure how it works at the moment, but I'd love to see "storm events" where if you get caught in a storm you need to sail in it manually for a few minutes and survive until you can go back out into the open world again. Maybe get the possibily to keep sailing longer in the storm and get a little bit of xp or something from it (but just a little bit).
  14. Would love to see some customizations with nameplates, figureheads and colours (no sail colours though), and the colour for the ships should be limited so that we don't have neon-coloured ships sailing around ruining the immersion.
