  1. When I try to enter my Final Exam tutorial, I get stuck in the Entering Combat scree. When it finally enters the instance it tells me I've lost shop control and will be kicked to login screen. I log back in and go directly to Entering Combat screen, on a never-ending loop. Is this some connection issue just with me, or a larger bug?
  2. This is a fascinating proposal. I like that it shifts power to those who excel technically, in port battles and other PVP. This system of lord's and parliaments seems to shift power away from clans/guilds. Thus far, clans or guilds have used their own internal political structures to negotiate leadership, make strategic decisions and alliances, and control ports. This is role-playing in a sense. But it's really a game mechanic. It's not controlled by the developers, it's just it's own beast that runs through the clans, depending on how they each chose to structure themselves. With these proposed changes, much of the function of clans becomes mechanized through the game, for better or worse. Is this the intent of the developers, and are they comfortable undermining the role of clans in this way?
  3. I'd love to see an update to this thread post-patch. I just pulled a solo rear admiral mission ("orders," not "fleet orders"), and it spawned a ludicrous number of ships of the line for me to fight solo. Roughly (from memory) four Pavels, two Bellonas, three 3rd Rates, and five Ingermanlands. Previously, these missions spawned two 3rd Rates. Was this a bug or have they increased the BR in these missions by more than 1000%?
  4. France deserves credit for trying. And after all the scary medical truck catches up with all of us sooner or later...
  5. I give a personal recommendation to Aussie Pastor. He is a good, warm-hearted person and a very good fighting captain and knowledgable crafter. Any clan has its culture, and I regret Aussie found SLRN's to be incompatible. Without commenting on events that transpired, I would define SLRN's culture as close-knit, where there is laughing and fun in TS, and one in which intolerance of any religion, sexual orientation, lifestyle, or race is absolutely not tolerated.
  6. The primary problem with pirate is that while it operates like any other nation (all the benefits), it is the one nation to which a player can switch without re-rolling their character from scratch. Or players can switch by mistake. Basically, pirate is like the gross bathtub drain screen that collects hair and bits of soap and other detritus.
  7. It didn't help that a Danish player brought his minions...
  8. For me I don't even get to the queue. There's no way there are more than 2000 people in PVP 1 right now.
  9. That makes sense. I'd also want to join a squadron or clan. Still, the second PVP server serves no purpose currently. Others have suggested the Devs take whatever resources they're putting into a second PVP server and use that to expand capacity of PVP One. That is a good suggestion, though it would still probably have its limits. Another solution I've heard suggested is breaking the map into different servers. In Eve, which I don't play and never have, traveling in hyper-speed between systems apparently gives the game a chance to move your ship from one server to another. How this could be done in open world, I'm not sure. But perhaps there's potential for a solution like this. Moving from OW to battle may already be this type of solution, but could it be utilized further?
  10. Since early access, things have worked well overall. Well done Devs! The queue to join PVP One is my only complaint. A 15-minute wait to join a game is too much. Especially so when I've got to do it twice, because there's been a patch. It is nice to have other server options, but if there is any chance to wait to get on PVP One, then that is what I want to do. Apparently many others feel the same way. Indeed, it's where all our friends are, our ships, our crafting materials exist, and our responsibilities to those friends and crafters and perhaps to our guild's strategic ends. It seems odd that brand new players beyond the number we have owning the game now, players with no gold or XP or assets yet, are being given the option to join an already over-crowded server. For the second PVP server to make sense, new players need to be forced to join it, and there then should not be an options about which server you join when you come in the game. Otherwise the Devs are creating a highly desireable, social, vibrant, but always overcrowded server, and an empty one that very few people will want to use.
  11. I can't log in, though it says 27 are online. How does that happen that they got in and I cannot?
  12. Is anyone else experiencing a bug in battle where the view of your own ship is suddenly replaced with some other ship? For me, this toggles back and forth in my view from my ship to the other. Sometimes very quickly. Sometimes accompanied by a game crash.
  13. I take it English newbies are being plunked down in Kingston now. So is Guadeloupe still the recommended beginners' hunting ground?
