  1. That's actually an interesting theory you have there.
  2. Buncha hawt dudes and one women you got there!
  3. Yeah just like that, if you manage to beach a sinking ship maybe we shouldn't lose a dura but be heavily penalized for repair cost. Or like I said above not lose crew or an officers life.
  4. After a very long hiatus I recently returned to Naval Action. Before I left land was not implemented in battles. What would the developers and the community think about tactical beaching? Meaning that if your sinking and you actually managed to beach your ship before you sink you would not lose a durability. In my mind it kind of makes sense. Beaching your ship would allow the crew to make repairs and sail back to port. Now I know there are plenty of real life circumstances to dis-credit this IE: ships too damaged to be salvaged or repaired. Remember this is just a suggestion. If a "tactical beaching" isn't an accepted idea what about the same principle but you lose a durability but your at least retain your crew and your one of your Officers 10 lives?
  5. I agree with puchu in these aspects. The AI really is easy to sink. I have taken on 4 to 6 AI frigates with my Conni and sank them all a few times. As annoying as it is I find AI don't lose cannons like players do, but I'm ok with that because I find that the equalizer between Ai and player.
  6. I like the idea if it were for your own ship. Knowing exactly how damaged the enemy is would take away every part of the thrill of battle. Not knowing whether to shoot masts, sails, or the hull to complete you objective against the enemy ship is the best part of battle. I would live to see those masts damage dot indicators added to your ship hud but not the enemy. Also chain shot will not destroy masts. They were only meant to damage sails and rigging back in the day.
  7. Clear enough for myself... Though I still believe you. Admin. Will benefit from such a post. Don't take this as being rude either, I want this game and community to succeed and I don't want to see players leave. The more the merrier.
  8. Thank you for confirming what I had already stated in my previous post. How hard would it be to take those rules you and I both just stated and pin those in the tribunals and open world sections of the forums. Considering said rules are buried in tribunals that are now locked and not worth looking at if your a new player.
  9. Am I to understand that according to the link you provided that national captains are allowed to join and attack a pirate on their own team. (Green on green). I know their not allowed but this is exactly the point I'm getting at. You posted Sea Trials and Forums rules. We are beyond that point and require an Open World set of rules so we don't get tribunals every week about the same nonsense
  10. After sailing I can say I like her more then the Bellona. I feel she turns better and she definitely is faster. Not to mention she's a black ship. Truly a work of art imo.
  11. That's a post in a locked thread. Me as a player is not going to sift through every thread and post to see what rules there are and what rules have changed. I wouldn't expect any player out there to do so. Hence why I said a "pinned" thread.
  12. I've seen a few tribunals lately that have me as a player and a long time admin on first person servers rather agitated. Rules popping out of no where and rules changing. A simplistic set of rules (the same rules) pinned in the Tribunal and Open World forums would make life a A LOT easier when it comes to rule breakers, then there would not be any excuses/confusion anymore. Admin, I hope you can see the necessity behind this. edit: IN-GAME rules
  13. Earlier today I tried making a second US character. But the game didn't give me the option. If you truly have two British players then I count you lucky. As far as swashbuckling, I highly look forward to trading system but like the current system of choosing your faction.
  14. Aye, but there is point in pvp with a Trader Brig, as he may have supplies that I need to finish a ship I'm building (since we will be able to do that). AI Ships may as well and if that be the case I'll be attacking everything in sight whether it be player or AI, but I wont be doing it in a Conni since it turns badly and a Trader Brig sails faster then it close hauled. If I entered into a battle with a player controlled Trader Brig I would not ram them I would chain their sails into oblivion then board them or if I'm in a much bigger ship I would pull along side and push them into the wind. PVP and Ganking are two different scenarios, Have I "ganked" before, I have, but I also just had a nice "PVP" against a British Frigate while I was in my BellePoule, two equally matched ships. I even let the player go when they were about to sink (they made it to port by the way). Your original suggestion is saying that: 1. Pick your Nation 2. Choose "Trader" or "Navy" (not in that order) I, as a player should not be forced into choosing either, since you can only have one, yes one, character per nation. Your suggestion is saying there is no point in PVP with Merchants at all. Hate to break it to you buddy but there is. It's been stated multiple times. Once again, if a player wants to strictly do trade they should probably choose the Neutral nation then the ONLY worry they have are Pirates and that is easily circumvented via, staying out of pirate waters. With great reward comes great risks as the way it should be. Players participating in Trading should not be given a "free ride" to avoid other player interactions. That's what drives games like this, that is what games like this thrive on, player interaction.
