bring back tow to outpost on global

Recommended Posts

It's just a waste of time sailing empty waters.  Make it 2 days if you need to. make it so traders can't teleport if you want but it's bullshit sailing ships to far off ports when there is zero risk.  Disable it when there is population but at this time it is not good for the game.

If you like sailing then do it but seriously 2  hours to sail from place to place so you can actually do something proactive and then wait for others to do it is retarded.

I will disagree. There is a risk.

If there's a probability of enemy ships being in the middle of nowhere ( I will vouch for this one twice this week and several others vouched by other players in other nations ), there is a possibility of combat. It might be a 1 in a 100 but as long as the possibility is there it shouldn't be taken off.

Not everyone likes to be predictable and players are still, slowly and steady, spreading across the map.

There's a fine line between realism and fun.. This game has always been a massive timesink and for the most part - the grinding part - I can to some extent understand it and even appreciate it. But repositioning ships is simply a chore.

boring boring boring boring.......come find me and make my life interesting by all means but so far boring boring boring boring...  we all just tab out and watch porn/play games /tv boring boring boring.

getting the picture yet? make it so that 10 in 100 times i tow my ship it gets lost ID STILL TAKE IT

the only thing that could make the experience  in the OW worse is damage from sandbanks that snag us up and annoy us.  bring back towing.

ps i wrote this post while afk sailing.........guess what I pray i tab back to someone attacking me...i literally don't care if i lose a ship afk sailing it's just not worth my time.

guess what no one attacked me....that makes zero OW engagements since wipe but plenty of hours sailing the open seas........and 9 movies watched.

Well done sir. A safe journey is always better than losing your entire trade convoy. You should ask how many have combats have occurred since two has been removed.

Actually don't ask, better read the threads about some fellow players losing ships to someone else.

Is it uneventful at times ? Yes it is.

it isnt a trade ship thus i welcome the fight. as i said if they dont wanna allow tp for trade ships thats fine but moving combat ships is just soooooo boring. no one wants to fight you in a big ship.

at times....i havent had a ow pvp battle since february.

I'll say this, it could be part to do with Piracy not being real Piracy in NA. There's no "find a lucrative trade item with the most out of profit between point A and point B, learn the trade route and hunt along that trade route" kind of piracy in this game. It's all camp this port, camp that port or hunt deep in enemy waters because they wont be able to catch me tactics. I think this is part of what makes deep sea sailing a "chore". If I was a Pirate I would do my research and hunt the expensive item traders in the deep sea trade lanes, perhaps with a letter of marque. but alas i am not a Pirate. just a thought

kind regards,

I prefer the tow-to-port function off as it is now actually.

Before people abused the crap out of it. Want to move a lineship or 4th rate with NO RISK to a freeport nearby a future port battle? Boom instant movement.

The defenders or attackers have no chance to take the ship out.

No, the game is better without it. Now if you meed a ship moved somewhere far away, you gotta go there, if you're worried that you will get caught then bring friends.

How are you not getting any PvP?  Oh maybe cause you won't come out when we hit the area?  I know not only Pirates, but French are raiding KPR almost daily.  I have lost 2 trader brigs and a surprise so far and tons of basic cutters so not sure how your not getting any.

well basically because i dont live in KPR.  it's just a huge hello kittying map with noone in it and the risk is near nonexitent but the annoyance of sailing for hours means this game can be more of a screensaver than fun.

i could go find pvp if i had the time but atm im sailing all my ships to hello kittying ports

yay  6 hours of sailing moving ships around but I got 2 movies watched a start at a Stellaris game and 48 XP........WORTH IT....

You know it ain't going to keep people in the game but I suppose as long as you sold it its money in the bank...

As someone who plays or well played AS A TRUE PIRATE DID ( in your view at least) i can tell you why so few pirates play that way.

Imagine spending weeks or more learning all the trade routes,  all the most popular ports, all the voids in protection and where the easiest targets are. Now imagine you spend 30 minutes sailing to a spot to ambush the unprotected trade ship . Now imagine you capture that trade ship and find a million gold worth of loot on it !!! Now imagine when you exit battle you find out your victim screames for help on teamspeak and national chat and 24 players all used stupid as hello kitty teleports to teleport near you and then sail the rest of the way while your in battle then they kill you whem you exit.

Yeah hello kitty that. Take away teleports and real piracy and privateer will come back ten fold.

Why would ANYONE want to play like a true pirate now?

TLDR because of no cooldown teleports any enemy port is essentially the enemy capital. Why not go to the most busy place ( the capital ) if youre gonna hve to fight them all anyways?

Thats because you are not looking for one. October patch killed solo hunting, killed trader hunting, killed conquest pvp. Hence why so many people left.

After this patch I find 1000 timer more pvp than I could in Feb. Go to high populated areas. Ask around where those areas are. If you dont like KPR go to freshly taken territories. They took them for a reason.

This was me last night.  I did a circle around KPR area starting from the north.  Clan mates had been raiding on the south side of the island and was heading back.  I was late to the show so decided I'll just circle the island and head back.  Sure enough just south of Savanana La Mar I run right into a Mercury with a Trader Brig in fleet. Tag him.  I Go right after his Trader Brig. I figure it's prob empty on the way to go get something in Dutch land or south Brits holdings.   He takes off.  I do a quick cap, no cargo.  Scuttle ship and escape.  I head south.  Same path he was going.  His invisibility goes off and I'm set on course with him.  Tag....battle goes on and my surprise sinks him, get some repairs.   Noticed I"m out of sail repairs so better get home.   I head back after a nice run.   Two less British ships on the OW and the trader brig prob hit hard on his econ.   We catch these guys all day long making these runs.

Bitches about never getting PvP and such, than admits he never leaves port.  I'll be bluntly honest with you man.

Sounds like this might be the game for you.....if you don't get out you won't find something.  You have to make that first step. Bitching about not getting PvP and sitting in port is not the games problem, it's your problem.

*SNICKERS* Is i it WO?   Yah they hit us pretty good the first week.  Just glad they our out bugging some one else.  Though we watch for ya'll and Brits making that run all the time tagging solo guys most of them don't even escort with a war ship,  just a solo Trader Brig. Easy pickings for a Pirate or Privateer.

@Mrdoomed I figure your having a field day with the easy targets.
