Petition to Make PvP2's Unrestricted, (No Port Battle Lockouts)

I do not care what happens on PvP1 EU, but please for the love of god, remove all restrictions on port battle schedules on PvP2 USA. 

Let the EU and Russian players have their time restrictions and let us players in the rest of the world play the way we want when we want.

Make PvP2 an anything goes server.  I personally believe that a more free and less restrictive game is overall a better gaming experience for myself and probably many others. 

We can have 2 servers, one restricted and one non-restricted.

All they have to do is move the window of 0400 to 0900 UTC to something like 0800 to 1100 UTC  I don't get why it's 5 hours long when even updates aren't more than 2 hours long.  This will give you prime time port battles for US players and it will make sure no port battles will start before the server maintenance comes back up.  With the 30 min restriction on log out for Port Battle join means we can't join when servers come back up if we flip any ports for right after maintenance cause we will all have to wait 30 mins unless we are defenders.  Cause attackers have to log out close to the port before the servers go down.

This is an interesting idea.

(by interesting, I mean making more than just PBs unrestricted but that is a start.  Being more Eve like when it comes to restrictions, i.e. very little when it comes to anything)

If the worse comes and PvP2 becomes the worldwide place to be that's where i'll go.

I want a completely unrestricted server with no lockout timers.

I want a Open World Naval Action server with all that the Devs have planned working 24/7 including maintenance time that accommodates to all playstyles and warmongering strategies and with a community that do not resorts to insults and knows how to conduct themselves and welcome new comers instead of shunning them due to absolutely off board vocabulary, especially in game in battle.

Can't do that as there has to be some window that we can't fight cause of server maintenance but if they just make that window smaller I think it will improve things.

I think the first one is quite doable.  I am not 100% sure why the servers need to go down for maintenance every night.  But the second one requires people to be kind and courteous to each other, and pvp games like this do tend to attract some players that are...... well..... lest just say people who are not so nice.

Servers need to go down to backup everything and restart so it runs well.  You wouldn't wan't the hard drive to fail and everything is lost do you?

I would say thats a great Idea but game does not have the player base to support it. PvP 1 would lose player base, and quickly turn into only 2 nations running it. IE. the same thing that has happened on PVP2. A total of 800-1000 players on line across 2 servers will mean you will never see anyone, then players will leave due to no OW pvp.

solution needs to be agreed upon and the servers should be merged.

@Yar Matey, I also think that pvp/pve servers as we have them now dont work for everybody's liking hence why all the arguments and blanket pulling.

Easy PVE Server - cant attack in OW. Has navy mechanic. If player joins navy he is able to freely attack/fight other players from enemy nations who also joined navy. Quitting navy means quitting pvp. Also has arena based PVP like PBs. People would sign in queue and get teleported to PVP then teleported back to OW. Just like SWTOR. This keeps PVE world a safe place, but still gives an option for PVP.

Softcore PVP Server - is what we have now. Restrictions, timers to PB and closing Battle Instances etc. Restricted conquest based on 1 PB per clan or something like that, plust PB timers. Battles 2 sided only like they are now.

Hardcore PVP Server - no timers, Battle Instances always open. Anybody can attack anybody, but if attacked friendlies get criminal tag that allows anyone to attack you without consequences until crim tag is expired. All battles (exept PBs) are free for all. Anyone can join. What happens inside battle instance is 100% player's decisions and actions.

This will reveal straight away which type of gameplay attracts more people.

I would guess the 4 hour window is so any port battles scheduled at the last minute would have time to complete before the restart.

Yah but port battles right now are only 1.5 long so that means if you schedual it at midnight CST you will be done with the port battle 30 mins before servers go down at 2am CST.   So that means the cut off would be 2am when the servers shut down, but even than they should drop the stupid 46 hour thing and make it 48 hours from when you hit 100% and maybe make the cut off at  12am CST (0600 to 1000 UTC)  That will give the 4 hours window to keep them out of maintenance time.  Any updates that take more than 2 hours any way would fall into abnormal down time.

It's possible to keep playing with maintenance if you ran two mirrored servers.  It would probably double the costs but it could be a solution with a bigger population or a server merge.

i say pvp2 can be the no restriction server and let pvp1 have its "stuff" i will be having more fun fighting what i want when i want

we want to try for 2 week test window just PvP US(2)

 

PB timer extended to four hours, with a 35 a side ship limiter. What UTC start finish time window we want here? Maintenance stands at UTC 0800 

OW Battle instances are always open, no close timer. Anybody can attack anybody. Civil War with aggressor pirate tag that cools off after 5 days back to Nation.

(or aggressor as 48 hours(no attacks) cool down to back off friendly interdictions otherwise turns pirate)

I believe the server can rewind back two weeks so all ports etc are still in place. I know Eve Online did a massive rewind once but certain things cannot be done. The will help US and my GB even Dutch or small Nations who've just started up again to play along?

 That would be awesome. And, really, why not try it? Let the euros have the rules and regs,  give us total and unrestricted warfare. I'd log on every night again. Throw in flag based pb's for the minor ports in a region instead of raising hostility via pve (or something like it) and I think we'd be doing alot better.

Captains, we are welcome this suggestion. Different ruleset for different servers feature is possible but it requers some time to code thus we cannot focus on this task at this stage as there are current tasks (like raids, admiralty and some others) that have to be coded first and cannot be temporary stopped. Once the current tasks are done we will come back to this idea.

Thank you! This gives players an indication that you are at least open for this discussions and that we can continue working toward improving PVP haven ROE mechanics.

Also have you considered this?

I will run another poll  to find out where players who gave negative vote are populated. If they are populated on PVP2 server and don't want Hardcore PVP will you allow them to transfer their assets to PVP1?

good idea I suggest hold off for a second until Ink has a timeline then re-do the pole. Like the idea of a move for those don't want it to PvP(1).

Which means and I hate to be the negative one about this, US players will remain to be locked out from playing RvR and doing port battles during there prime time I take it?  Glad to hear once more that it's known issue and being worked on, but this sounds more like it might happen next year type of thing at the rate things are going.  Just like about the time we might get some sort of pirate mechanics and not just a stupid semi nation thing.
