[PvP1] July, Tobbies Tobacco Imperium

Skully

Recommended Posts

Tobacca Pricing as of July 9th 1716:

Mid-price $595 (v $638)
Bid $580
Ask $610

Now hear this. Now hear this.

Tobbies Tobacco Imperium has opened its first trade route stretching from Saint-Malo to Barataria.

On behalf of Tobbies, Skully has been appointed barter in Saint-Malo town.
Tobbies will put the mid-price of Tobacco in Saint-Malo at $638 and hereby grants Skully to handle any orders within a spread of $10.

Note that the authorities of Saint-Malo have an imposed tax of 5% when transacted on the town market.
Therefore any town market contract will appear with an ask price of $653 or bid price of $622.

For any bartering orders, please leave a message to Skully.

Any plantation owner supplying Tobbies can expect to earn $100/p on average.

Any captain transporting the Tobacco can expect to earn $200/lbs on average.

Tobbies will also expand in other territories, do not be hesitant to apply.

A little background, crafting 4 Tobacco costs $2000 plus one labor hour. Assuming $100/h it means production price is $525/p.

Barataria buys at $750/p, hence the mid-price of $638.

The contract is cost is split between buyer and seller and thus you come at $653.

There are a couple of goals which I want to show here:

  1. Saint-Malo with its limited NPC production works. So a player can out-produce the NPC and thus the high ask price can work.
  2. Barataria has a whole-sale NPC consumer. So you need players working together to actually pressure the market price down. Hence medkits are expensive.
  3. As the compass and fish markets show, once the limit is reached, liquidity drops close to 0. For that we need market makers. (If we simply limit NPC consumption, the market just crashes sooner. :) )

PS. If you leave some space while sailing, you get fishies and bottles. :P

The Compaignie des heeren negentien (-XIX-) are interested in taking tobacco from your hands, we have barter in return in the form of fish, batavian spices or other produced goods. But to be clear on the location of the goods, you mean Saint Malo in Brittany, France?

Yes, I know, but it seems a bit weird to transport produced raw tobacco from Saint Malo, Brittany, back to the Caribbean again unless there is some subsidized trade going on that we'd like to be aware of as a company.

Yes. And they will give it some fancy name and sell it like it is the new hipster thing and everyone will want it. Such classic legal pyracy :D

Not to be snarky, but 'emporium' perhaps would be the intended word for the system you're trying to create.

Unless you're trying to hold absolute power over tobacco, which, come to think of it, is not a bad idea either.

But I like this idea. The only question now is how to prevent pirates from intercepting delivery of goods. You'll have a lot of traders being kil—eh, slipping and falling off the dock, while charitable strangers see to it that their goods get to the intended destination.

Now hear this. Now hear this.

Tobbies Tobacco Imperium is offering lucrative opportunities on the Tobacco trading route from Ruatan to Bonacca.

Prices will be the same as Saint-Malo. The position of barter is still open.

Skully has volunteered as transporter and thus will buy at $638 directly or $653 through contract at Ruatan.

Tobbies is still seeking plantation owners who can provide Tobacco to the market.

Do be aware that Pirate activity has increased in the area as Utila was unexpectantly captured by said Pirates during the night.

Tobbies Tobacco Imperium is looking for retailers to sell Medkits at Barataria and Bonacca.

Retail price of the Medkits should be as follows (excluding 5% VAT):

  1. Medkit Large - $45000
  2. Medkit Medium - $15500
  3. Medkit Small - $4400

For the Medkit Large, this constitutes a 40% price reduction of crew replacements.

To apply as retailer, please look at the required recipe at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VIzDMmnXiq59XBjVmlIvntCm2RTcoypymowm4Qh7S4A/edit#gid=581135800

Skully has applied to be one of the retailers at both Barataria and Bonacca.

Tobbies is also looking for plantation owners and transporters around the Caribbean to setup more trade routes.

Apply now and start earning money!

Now hear this. Now hear this.

Tobbies has invented a new way of producing Tobacco using (cash) cow manure.

In accordance with John Locke's recent statement on property out of labor, Tobbies claims this invention out of its intellectual endeavors as its intellectual property.

Similarly the Tobacco property coming out of the plantation labor is entirely owned by its owner and should not be taxed.

By using the new (cash) cow manure method the production cost of Tobacca has gone down to $150/p.

For now Tobbies will retain the mid-price at $638, meaning an immediate profit of $488/p (before taxes).

With transporting this profit goes up to $600/p when sold to the wholesale buyer at selected ports.

For transporters this means a fully loaded Trader Lynx represents a revenue of $1.2M, a profit of $180K.

The expectancy is that mid-price will start dropping soon with the lower production rate and potential insurance needs of transporters.

Now hear this. Now hear this.

Tobbies is lowering it's Tobacco mid-price to $595. Bid will be set at $580, ask at $610.

Current supply at ports, while limited, is at $500/p. An additional $30/p accident fee will be charged for transport.

Given the recent (cash) cow manure method, this brings no additional hit on plantation owners.

Any plantation owner supplying Tobbies can expect to earn $445/p (excl. $15 tax). (Was $100/p.)

Any captain transporting the Tobacco can expect to earn $310/lbs (excl. $30 tax). (Was $200/lbs.)

The expectancy is that the mid-price will further drop as additional transport fees will be added or the (cash) cow manure method will be deemed climatically imprudent and subsequently be withdrawn.
