Does anyone else find it jarring to see some of the names used in the 1890s? I know now we can rename ships ourselves, but really we just need some better name lists to start with. It's not a difficult fix and shouldn't be too laborious. The Germans have it worse than the British in my opinion, but I'm sure there are examples on both sides. Admiral Scheer made his name at Jutland in WWI, and yet we have 1890s and 1900s ships called that. The worst is transports having battleship names. I'm sure there any many people on here who would be happy to contribute historically accurate or at least ambiguously plausible ones. Why don't we work on some lists and hand them off to the devs for an update? Would anyone be interested? Are there any name list updates planned @Nick Thomadis?

@admin I don't know if someone else has posted something similar, but I was wondering where we could post ideas that the development team could take under review? An area of the forums where we can post something and have you update the status to "Under review/Consideration/Denied or Rejected" with maybe a reply on why it's good or bad. That being said, I would recommend a few things in game that might fill in more of the world immersion. 1: Whaling, Age of sail was full of it, from off the coast of US to off the coast of South America. Maybe have some whaling ships imported or have a refit/mod for trade ships that lets you go out and go whaling? Or Fishing even. Could use the same "battle fight scene area" like a battle, except instead of cannons, have there be an option to load harpoons or something. Then a rendering station or something at Port that could give oil or such for shipbuilding materials. 2: Figureheads: gotta admit I would kill to be able to change out the Figureheads on a lot of the ships in game. Yes the stock ones that they come with are awesome but seeing 30 centaurs in a PB is weird. They had lions and mermaids and such, this could probably even come out as a $5 DLC and it would get snapped up fast. 3: Custom ship names: Nothing bugs me like seeing a fleet of 74s and all the names are Redoubtable or Bellona. Where's HMS Mars or Thunderer? (Those were just examples, not saying we need those ships). I recommend using the same naming algorithms as you would with chat restrictions so you don't get those troll names or weird characters to make a smiley or some such. Sorry I filled up so much on here.

Just a suggestion: crafters names could have colours for example; Level 1-10 could be grey, Level-11 to 20 green, Level-21 to 30 blue, Level 31 to 40 purple, and gold for 41+. Just like the old quality system. This will help IDing crafters in clans and OW in chats etc. What do you think?

The name Verenigde Provinciën and the flag used in the game do not coincide historically. Verenigde Provinciën was associated with the Dutch Republic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_Republic. While the Red,White, and Darker blue started here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Holland and from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_Principality_of_the_United_Netherlands until the present day. So I am proposing that Verenigde Provinciën be changed to Nederlanden

Having seen the brothel load of ranks' names that the poor, pirate captains have to put up with, I would like to suggest a much more humane and not devilish sounding names. I got these from reading about pirates in history. My suggestions are these, below. They are all easily translatable into every one of the six national languages: Admiral (there is no reason why pirates should not have admirals) Vice-Admiral (a double entendre) Grand Captain (comes from Eastern 'Titanic Captain') First Captain Quartermaster Vessel Captain Master Mate Mister

Currently, ships are all (for the most part) named based on their original name in the real world. For example, 'the Renommee'. The Renomme was was a 'Galathee class frigate' and there were sister ships to her. Another, the Cerberus, would fall into the 'Coventry-class frigate'. I feel that for the sake of immersion the ships should be renamed in-game to the class which they are, if applicable. There are ships like the HMS Victory, which have a class of 'First-Rate and obviously the size, guns, etc of first rate's differed from nation to nation and ship to ship and year to year. So it's difficult to pin some to a specific class. Those could perhaps continue to be listed as they are, or possibly named something like 'Victory Class First Rate' or 'Santísima Class First Rate'. So, similar to how you see 'Frigate, Cutter, Brig,' now. You'd see more of that and less of named ships in the world. EDIT: The main reason for this, being that someday hopefully we'll be able to name our ships and have the names appear in the world. So having a 'Renommee named Intimidator' wouldn't seem as right as having a 'Galathee Class Frigate, named Intimidator.'

We can provide a quick fix next patch giving the option in settings to change some UI colors to more colorblind friendly. Please propose for which UI elements you want to have this option? which colors you want to see instead of current ones?
