'Ocean' Océan was a 118-gun first-rate three-decker ship of the line of the French Navy, lead ship of her class. She was funded by a don des vaisseaux donation from the Estates of Bourgogne. She was ordered as États de Bourgogne and was launched at Brest in 1790. Like many French ships of the line during the Revolutionary period, she was renamed several times, becoming Côte d'Or in January 1793, Montagne in October 1793, Peuple on 17 May 1795, and a matter of weeks later again renamed, to Océan. She served until 1855. As the largest ship of the line in the Brest fleet, the ship spent much of her early career as the fleet flagship. As Montagne, the ship was the flagship of Rear-Admiral Villaret-Joyeuse in the Combat de Prairial (known in English literature as the Glorious First of June) in 1794. She was badly damaged by the HMS Royal Sovereign, losing 313 men and receiving 233 round shots in her hull. On 17 May 1795, she was renamed Peuple; a month later, on the 23 of June she fought in the Battle of Groix as Villaret's flagship. Returning to Lorient three days later, she was (officially, since 30 of May the name Océan was used) renamed to Océan. She was refitted in Brest in 1797. In 1801, she once again served as Villaret's flagship, ferrying troops of Leclerc's expedition to Saint-Domingue. Océan was Allemand's flagship at the Battle of the Basque Roads. She was decommissioned on 2 August 1850, and used as a floating artillery battery from May 1851. Hallo na community. Öfters liest oder hört man das es an rvr Spieler mangelt. Ich habe mich bemüht um in so ein Gefecht mal rein zu kommen. Leider dachten sich die Schweden es wäre gut um 2 Uhr morgens so ein kack durch zu ziehen. Naja gut ich hatte große Erwartungen und wünsche auf das Gefecht. In den streams sehen diese Gefechte immer sehr interessant aus. Dieses aufeinander zufahren ne Lücke finden und dann brawlen. Ich liebe das kämpfen in na. Zurück zum pb Thema. Nun unser pb beginnt. Zu meinem überraschen waren da weit mehr Schweden unterwegs als wir hätten stemmen können. Wir mussten aber nirgends hin fahren deshalb konnte uns das ja egal sein. Im Gefecht angekommen sah ich ein paar Namen von denen ich wusste die sind gut. Gooser Liam etc. Ich habe mich gefreut da man so wohl am besten lernt. Nun das Gefecht war ne absolute Katastrophe. Es gab keinen Kampf. Kein brawlen. Nix. I'm Prinzip haben nur die requin gekämpft. Wenn man mal auf einen Gegner schießen durfte hat man fast keinen dmg gemacht bzw konnte nicht mal penetrieren. Da keine Seite wirklich ins brawlen gegangen ist Als die runde dann eigentlich schon verloren war dank den requins. War meine Motivation für rvr absolut im Keller. Andere pvp battles oder screening battles waren nicht viel besser da eine Seite immer weg rennt. Gut zugegeben jeder rennt irgendwann mal weg. Aber das passiert halt ständig. Der Kampf mit den 1st rates is nicht so gut wie ich es in streams sehe oder es mir vorstelle. Mit den Screening battles die eigentlich bisher noch nie ein battle waren (außer einmal als wir unterlegen waren) und dem wissen das meine rvr Erfahrung absolut nicht zufrieden stellend war, frage ich mich ob es wirklich Sinn macht da weiter zu machen. Vllt gibt es hier erfahrene Hasen die damals auch ihre Zweifel hatten und mir sagen können was ich ändern müsste damit mir der rvr Modus bzw das segeln in einer 1st rate Spaß macht? I brought everything I wanted to keep to La Tortue and switched nations from pirates to the british. I brought a constitution and a Victory and some resources. The only thing the game gave to me was my connie after switching and logging back in, i suppose it gave me the connie because thats the ship i was in when i logged out. It's amazing what a little digging can do on Pinterest. Granted, there wasn't all that much to find within the timeline, but I have found (and shared) some items. That being said, I did find a plan of a Russian first rate that was built for service in the Baltic Fleet. She saw action against the Swedes at both The Battle of Kronstadt and The Battle of Vyborg Bay. 3decks link in the title below. HMS Nelson was a 126-gun first rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched on 4 July 1814 at Woolwich Dockyard, but then laid up incomplete at Portsmouth until 1854, when work began with a view to commissioning her for service in the Crimean War, but this ended before much work had been done, and the ship returned to reserve. She was converted into a screw ship in 1860, being cut down to a two-decker and fitted with an engine of 2,102 indicated horsepower (1,567 kW) for a speed of 10.5 knots (19.4 km/h; 12.1 mph). In 1865, Nelson was given to the colony of Victoria as a training ship, and she was finally outfitted and rigged for £42,000 and sailed for Australia in October 1867. Travelling via the Cape of Good Hope, she arrived in February 1868. She was the first ship to dock in the newly constructed Alfred Graving Dock. Her armament in 1874 was listed as two 7-in RML, twenty 64-lb guns, twenty 32-lb guns and six 12-lb howitzers. During 1879-82, Nelson was further cut down to a single deck and her rig reduced to the main mast only, the ship being reclassified as a frigate. Her old armament was partly replaced by modern breech-loaders. She was laid up at Willamstown in 1891, her boilers being removed in 1893. On 28 April 1898 she was put up for auction and sold to Bernard Einerson of Sydney for £2,400. In 1900. Nelson was cut down yet again to create a coal lighter that kept the name Nelson, the upper timbers being used to build a drogher named Oceanic. In 1908 "Nelson" was sold to the Union Steamship Co. of New Zealand, and in July was towed from Sydney to Beauty Point on the Tamar River, Tasmania, for use as a coal storage hulk. She later foundered there with 1,400 tons of coal on board and remained submerged for forty days until finally refloated. In January 1915 she was towed to Hobart for further service as a coal hulk, until sold in August 1920 to Mr. H Gray for £500 and towed an up river to Shag Bay for gradual breaking up, work continuing into the 1930s, although some of her timbers still survive. 'Commerce de Marseille' The Commerce de Marseille was a 118-gun ship of the line of the French Navy, lead ship of the Océan class. She was funded by a don des vaisseaux donation from chamber of commerce of Marseille. Built on state-of-the-art plans by Sané, she was dubbed the "finest ship of the century". Her construction was difficult because of a lack of wood, and soon after her completion, she was disarmed, in March 1791. Commerce de Marseille came under British control during the Siege of Toulon. When the city fell to the French, she evacuated the harbor for Portsmouth. She was briefly used as a store-ship, but on a journey to the Caribbean, in 1795, she was badly damaged in a storm and had to limp back to Portsmouth. She remained there as a hulk until she was broken up in 1856. Konung Karl built in 1694 built by Charles Sheldon at the Karlskrona shipyard. named after King Carl, She was 54m (177ft) in length at the waterline and weighed in at 2,730 tons. she was armed with 108 cannons and complemented a crew of 850. She remained in service for a suprising 77 years before being broken up do to decay. She served as the flagship for Hans Wachtmeister who served under Charles XI and Charles XII. She would be later up-gunned to 120 in 1714 and then rebuilt to 100 in 1723-4 although its suggested sometime later on she was again reduced to either 96 or 90.
