For the second time in a couple of days I have had to replenish my crew to 800 although I have not been in any battles. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The main point is, for Naval Action there needs to be a scale of ranks or you don't get the necessary crew for your ships, because that is based on rank. Get it? The other point is, the current names for Pirate ranks are neither historical nor appropriate. The third point is, some of you guys jump without thinking or reading completely first.

Yes, it was the lowest rank on a pirate ship, from memory. Pirate is not a rank, it is a condition. All are pirates, from the cabin boy to the Admiral. True, pirates were democratic, and like the Roman army sometimes chose their 'imperators', pirates chose their commanders by vote. This was not the historical case, though. Pirate ships had people who were ranked, as I stated. But, it isn't the case.

Having seen the brothel load of ranks' names that the poor, pirate captains have to put up with, I would like to suggest a much more humane and not devilish sounding names. I got these from reading about pirates in history. My suggestions are these, below. They are all easily translatable into every one of the six national languages: Admiral (there is no reason why pirates should not have admirals) Vice-Admiral (a double entendre) Grand Captain (comes from Eastern 'Titanic Captain') First Captain Quartermaster Vessel Captain Master Mate Mister

You have the right to say whatever you want, unless you are intending to be rude, crude, crass and toxic. Is that what you mean? (I don't believe you do.) We have paid for a GAME, not for open slather by people with personality disorders. They are better off on the psychologist's couch or in an insane asylum or nursing home if they have dementia.

I was in a Fleet Mission yesterday, myself and 5 AI versus 6 AI. At the end of the battle the results showed that my side sank 7 AI ships.

I am in total agreement with you Capt.Pig: 'Unfortunately much of us haven't the time to sail so much in the game, we have a job, a family, and this is a entertainment product, a game, not a job.' I don't have a job as I'm a now retired veteran wargamer. Yet, it is onerous to me too to have to spend useless time in this aspect of the game.

This is the level of reasoning that makes playing with others impossible sometimes. Nota Bene: I have PAID for a game which is both PvE and PvP. The GAME is still in development, and I contribute to its development for FREE. ASSUMING: The Devs move toward a complex, stressful game that makes it difficult for INDIVIDUAL players to play successfully without joining Clans and Nations. The devs decide that only Landlords can vote in National POLITICS. Many players do not have a SAY. Eventually, Landlords run their Nations and Clans according to their whims and preferences. Individual players (who have paid for the game at the same price as Landlords) are marginalized and forced out of the game. Wasted money and wasted time plus stressful interactions RESULTS.

DEMOCRATIC vote is best. We are all equal as customers; we have all paid for the game. It would be an abandonment of the customer base for the Devs to determine that votes can only be cast by a few. Also, it should be made as simple as possible. There is a tendency to make this game increasingly complex and less user friendly. I have not joined a Nation to be told what to do by lesser personalities who might be Admirals or what-not. Rank is not an assurance of rationality in a wargame. Indeed, any fool can get a high rank if he plays long enough. A game is not real life. It must not become a simulation of real life warfare and politics. There is already a certain amount of politics just because human beings (players) have the tendency toward being egocentric--that's the part that is unpleasant. It is still a SUPERB game, though.

I love a good skirmish with PvP Pirates and Danes and Spaniards. We fight as a team and support each other. Even if you're from another clan, I will support you when you are in difficulty and / or outnumbered.

I found the bug, too. Buy a basic cutter and sell it and get 40 crew for nothing up to your level each time.

Something is going on that the DEVS are not telling us about. Perhaps they are trying to sort out and fix this bug which makes the crew regenerate with a few players and not with the great majority. It's a good bug to have and we all should have it. Regeneration of crew to your rank level (e.g., mine is 650 men) for free. I haven't been able to sail my 3rd rate becaue I have only enough crew for my Constitution, short of buying 200 crew at astronomical prices. Since I'm already trading, mining and crafting to help my clan, there is not much left in the kitty from missions, after I pay for repairs and buy some crew to top up the Connie.

I have mentioned this repeatedly elsewhere to the point of frustration because I have had no replies from Staff. It has been posted that crew automatically regenerates to your rank level--in my case, 650 men. I have seen NO regeneration of crew, and neither has any member of my clan, beyond the crew that we are compelled to buy. I repeat, no automatic crew regeneration is occurring in our cases. We would like to know what is going on? Do we have a bug, or have those persons for whom crew regenerates automatically at no cost a bug?

NO, NO, NO! There is no replenishment for myself nor any of my clan teammates! I repeat NO replenishment of crew under any circumstances other than buying crew! I have had no reply from the DEVELOPERS. PS. I have F11 the so-called bug.

DEVELOPERS please reply to this. Is it a BUG or not? Some of us have crew regenerating and some of us NOT including my whole clan! Developers please reply!

No, my CREW DOES NOT REGENERATE neither when I am at sea nor on the dunny. I think you mean that I am the 'whiner' that 'only think(s) about (his) pleasure, nothing more!' What do you play wargames for? to increase your intelligence quotient? or, to be discovered and find paid work as a developer? or, you just like paper-work and can't get enough of it, perhaps. I play wargames for PLEASURE. (What a surprising revelation!)
