  1. rookie ships have been added in the most recent patch They are inferior to their original designs. They have half the crew and only fire 4 pound cannons. I dont know their armor values tho. They might be less, too. No AI ship is faster than you if you are inthe same vessel. Thats your perception. AI sails as fast as the ship allowes for. Same goes for turning. The snow has always been a "turn on a dime" vessel. When you sail a basic cutter you loose nothing at all. Thats impossible. The basic cutter is free to buy, equip and repair. If you have items in your hold and you are afraid to loose them you should first get them onto a warehouse. About your speed problem: You compare two completely different kinds of vessels. One (your cutter) sails best close to the wind. 90 degrees and less is your favourite angle to run from any square rigged sailship. Two there is the snow which is a square rigged ship. They go best while the wind comes from behind. more than 90 degrees. Now towards money: Previously money was not a problem whatsoever. Even the most casual player had millions in their checkbooks. The eco was completely out of wack. Now we have a lot more value in money. Thats good. Thats perfect. You play on PvE: why dont you just capture the vessels you like? I am currently doing just that. I cant be bothered with PvP atm so I went ahead and took a look at the PvE server. And there, beeing completely casual I boarded one ship after the other. Cutter, privateer, pickle, trader brig, snow and mercury is what I sailed thus far. No need to buy expensive ships when you start off. You can do good money with those. Also you get cannons for free. Yes they are less than the long guns but thats relative. cope with what we get. Its what I do and its a nice non-stress-factor. I dont have a ton of money btw - I have enough to sail the sips I have. Not more - not less.
  2. very valid question. Such problems do occur when your connection times out for a bit. Next time this happens, please go ahead and use the option "report connection" in your steam lirary (right klick on Naval Action)
Erwünscht, wenn man so will.
  4. Do we moderators have to explain to you every time that the Tribunal has special rules? If you dont have anything to prove nor dismiss a claim brought here you must stay silent You have no business in the Tribunal if you are not involved - period. And yes I keep posts that are informative and helping the matter. All opinions and bullshitting, trolling or whatnot is removed
  5. it totally depends on the ship you are in. All the smaller vessels have an already good yard turnspeed. Some (mercury) have worse than others but in general your sails will adjust just fine to your needs. And you wont need this mod for schooners since there is no true benefit from it. Now take something bigger. I am not sure when you notice the big drop in yard speed performance but there are vessels you will feel it. Also if your crew is not completely at sailing stations you get a benefit from this modification. I remember Mercury beeing very slow with her yards. Everyone knows that turning with the yards is faster than rudder only. And the faster you get your yards to go about the faster you will tack for example. The rudder will ofc hampen your initial turn. And come in play when you want it back amidships. But geneally speaking I would use this mod for a lot of ships. Test it ad see if you yourself feel the improvement - or if you feel the rudder turn is a big problem for you.
  6. the numbers show the direct impact on the stats they tell you. here its rudder half turn time (+)12%. that means your rudder gets a malus of 12% - it will turn slower (remember its half turntime. from zero position to maximum angle) the yard turn time is -10% so the time they need to swing around is shortened. its a buff in this regard.
  7. I AM IN AWE!!! holy crap thats amazing!
  8. Fires still work as described. Not sure where your question aimes at but your quote says most of it. How it works in short: Each shot has a low chance to set fires. when on fire your crew will start working it when set on survival. fire spreads (you see it visually, too) when the fire hits the magazine its bad news -> explosion where is/are the magazine(s): below the waterline: ships of the line have two: one fore, one aft frigates and lower ranks have one - individual placements per ship (you need to check RL plans if you want to find them) different size ships create different sized explosions (according to stored powder per gun so to say) you can choose to keep the fire burning and wreck your enemies when nearby. If I missed somethin, hit me up
  10. If you have issues with players ingame use the report function. There is no reason to throw general claims and accusations into the forums and start another troll and flamewar like we have here. You can ignore players in the chat. You can reprt them. If you want, tell your clan, your friends or the whole nation to report them. If the players in question went over board with their manners they will be taken care of. If not thats life and you have to live on. Smacktalk amongst players is not seen as the end of the world. People need something to vent and global is what they use. When you see personal attacks, obvious trolling towards the helpchat or seriously asked question you should report them. And such plaayers will be punished 100% granted. And if I didnt make it clear enough: -> Use the ingame functions to deal with these people. Report and ignore.
  12. your screenshot shows that your "team mate" (TAB- same side) is red. Hence you were in a FFA battle
  14. these are the planss for the 74 gunner:
  15. Malachi modeled her way back but stopped because of the ship poll that voted during that time. She is 100% swedish. There are plenty of plans in many countries. The danish archives have two of them. You find them obviously in the swedish archives and its said that in 1800 all the navies had plans of her in their collections. apparently these images are too high res to embed in this forum http://ao.sa.dk/ao/data.ashx?bid=39522726 http://ao.sa.dk/ao/data.ashx?bid=39522733 http://ao.sa.dk/ao/data.ashx?bid=39522734
