  1. The level of butthurt here is astounding... why don't you just rally everyone against the pirates? Oh wait... thats right... the entire server hates the US. Do you think its going to be any different (or less embarassing) when they all go Spain and dominate you from there? Better start thinking of your "spain op nerf plox" arguments now. As for all the "make the pirates fight in snows" arguments... is the US also getting limited to connies? Only the brits and spanish get SOLs? Spain, denmark and VP are limited to their realistic Caribbean presence aka maybe (big maybe) yachts?
  2. +1 to getting rid of fleets. The fleets were a noob crutch when they were originally around, supporting mediocrity and leading to the noobs getting wrecked once they were removed or they got past rank 3... now fleets are grown noob crutches. The real noobs can't use them because they don't have the crew to do so leading to all the grown players who should be better than this using them. I'm all for allowing the indiaman to have an escort or two but fleets absolutely need to go for warships. They're dumb, both in the ai and implimentation, they don't add anything to the battles they just prolong it and support bad sailing/captains.
  3. ^^ my complaint... towns need some lanterns or lighthouses or whatnot (I don't want glowing red words in the darkness like some will suggest) as it sits currently its easier to see ships in a storm due to the lanterns (because combat ships running from the enemy in a storm/night need the lights on or else the coast guard will give them a ticket) than it is towns.
  4. This... if you aren't "playing" the game then don't play.
  5. You're also ignoring that the npc producing stuff is being phased out and eventually there will be only player produced (or trader captured) resources...
  6. I like the lattice idea although your examples are way too restrictive, the day long battles not so much would just hurt smaller nations even more
  7. Rural US here with limited internet quality, pvp 2 ping is 100-120ish but euro ping is like 300. You will never convince me that this doesn't have an effect when it comes to aiming, sure I could hit the broad side of a barn-constitution but what if I'm full speed turning trying to get that split second shot at his waterline? Significantly harder target and yes a ping that terrible would have an effect. Get rid of pvp3 and pve imo, the prior being an antiquated overflow server and the other being boring and pointless, if you want pve go sail to some back water freeport and fight unarmed traders all you want. tldr; if there is a merge I'm gone
  8. As the title says, while the shotlogger will you you your pens, non-pens, and misses it only shows the pens, non-pens of the enemy. Which makes it difficult to collect complete information for the purpose of proving points and making informed suggestions. (As I am now aware of this due to my attempts to more thoroughly study the new ai everyone is freaking out about)
  9. ... Just going to throw in my two cents, 1.) This whole topic is absurd, its a huge world go find your own corner 2.) Although I normally approve the dev reaction to this is equally as absurd, suggesting banning for this stupidity while exploiters get xp reset? At worst make the player go pirate even that is extreme imo 3.) Some clown draws me into their stupid battle for a trade cutter then it is owed to me by virtue of wasting my time 4.) Regarding historical yada yada: put the disengage back in, example: Captain Screwup attempts to capture an enemy vessel, the enemy vessel manages to escape and Captain Competent then manages to swoop in and finish the job Captain Screwup was obviously too incompetent to be undertaking... does anyone seriously think 'the admiralty' is going to punish Captain Competent for their success where the less worth have failed? 5.) Relating to above, Just fix the disengage mechanic, npc's would only run when they were outmatched, if you are unable to secure a npc so vastly outmatched (you're the dev you'll have to provide exact numbers on how it worked) in the four turns it takes to disengage you aren't deserving of the capture anyways. 6.) Bumping friendly off to capture is a completely unrelated topic to the npc disengage 'stealing' (more like succeeding) one again going pirate is the absolute worst I could see for this scenario Suggesting banning for this minor non-issue while outright exploiters (see damage farming) get reset
