Port battles have these "timers" where you can only pull a flag to attack at specific times. Funny how these times have allowed me to join in only 5 port battles whilst sailing these waters for 700 hours. These timers got to go!

Don't put all US players in the same boat. I was never part of the US zerg and I did speak out against taking Spain down to one port. Sail on mates!

Besides rat on rat mechanic, for me personally ........... playing potbs for almost 8 years, I participated in hundreds of pb's. I enjoy the rvr part of the game but I must wait until the mechanics change here. Sneak attacks, buying flags and mostly the times you can buy a flag have all but excluded me from any participation in the defense of USA ports or the attack of enemy ports because of RL responsibilities. No blame, just stating a fact.

I was thinking the same thing the other day while on a long voyage. The trip lasted over an hour and yes, there were times that I would reference my charts for my location as well as close by port information. At no time would I consider myself "semi-afk." A beat to quarters would be sweet if I happened to be in my cabin during a long voyage.

I work nights and on Sat. & Sun. My weekend is Wed. & Thurs. Bad idea mate!
