  1. Hey, screening for portbattles is a disgusting mechanic and needs some fixing fast. What is screening right now? Screening is used to avoid fights. You take the cheapest and worst ships you can find and attack the biggest fleet possible in the area around a PB. Then you start an unwinnable fight, shoot some sails for 20 mins and surrender/escape/sink with no intention to win the battle at all. Your goal is to waste as much time of the enemy as possible. That is not fun! Its boring for the screeners because they know they cant win and its boring for the other side because they cant get a nice fight. Example: Those fights should not happen. How can screening be fun? Screening is fun as soon as you have to fight and you try to sink the enemy fleet instead of just delaying it. Here are 2 ideas on how to fix it: Solution 1 Screening should be used to challenge the PB fleet with the intention of sinking it. Therefore we could increase the BR needed to attack other ships. For example if you would drag in a fleet with at least 20 ships you need 70% of their BR. Solution 2 Step 1: Put a PvP zone around a region. It is used to generate hostilty and its used for screening. When your alliance dominate the zone (has more BR in there) or you sink enemy ships you will get hostility. You will have to gain it to a certain limit and when you can reach it the PB will be set up for the next day (24 hours later). Step 2: PB will be lobbybased, people who gained the most hostility can join first (like it is now). Its basically the final of a long fight of the day before. Additional rules for the 1st phase: To make it fair and fun for all sides, limit the maximum BR per battle to 3000BR (there can be ofc multiple battles at once). This way pure numbers alone wont win you this phase and it also promotes to use a lot of different ships. Kills gain a lot of hostility compared to just having dominance in that zone. This way fighting gets promoted and sitting in the zone and avoiding combat is not a good option. Why BR and not number of ships in that zone to gain dominance? Because otherwise you could pick fast ships only and avoid fighting. Its easy to understand, it promotes fighting and everyone can get involved. Fix pls

  2. Upgrade slots should have a different distribution by ship quality. Currently the difference between the ship qualities is way too high. I propose the following upgrade slot layout (Permanent/General): Grey: 2/2 Green: 2/3 Blue: 3/3 Purple: 3/4 Yellow: 3/5 Captured 1/Random This would make all the non yellow ships a bit more competitive while still maintaining a serious advantage for yellow ships since they still have a slight slot advantage and higher quality build in bonuses.

  3. In my opinion, currently, the whole port battle setup and design is broken. The whole system is just dumb from beginning to end and it needs to be rethought. First you have to grind PvE for a few hours to get a port battle. Then wait 2 days Then sail out of a port at a specific time 2 days later and get tagged over and over by screening fleets. And if you manage to make it to the port battle, all you see are heavy rattle snakes or Agamemnons if they are shallow water or 4th rate port battles. Port battles themselves are good and fun, but the process to get to a port battle, all of that needs to change and ships need to be rebalanced badly.

  4. screening is a tactical game and we dont run bad ships we run golden ones i agree that the br needed to tag is stupid and that the tagging circle is way too large but making pb's lobby based would deny the rest PVP

  5. Датчане слишком сильны в этой игре. надо их фиксить. Такие сильные, что чтобы дождаться от них боя, пришлось зайти прям в зону столицы. А ещё фрегаты нагибают рейты ололоничегонесделать. тоже надо фиксить.

  6. Hi there, Would it be possible to create a mechanic by which AI ships (particularly traders) choose to surrender to a vastly overmatching foe rather than fight? Parameters could be how many times greater the enemy is in size/weight of broadside/crew, proximity, and speed. Merchant sailors weren't keen on getting slaughtered to no end in hopeless fights in the 18th century; creating an AI surrender mechanism would be vastly more realistic than having to force a small merchantman up into the wind to be boarded and its crew cut to pieces in a single round. И снова Виргинский дуб, ценнейший ресурс переходит в руки к Амерам, почти все серебро и золото в руки испанцев и они такие думают - а зачем нам это все захватывать\защищать, вот щас раскатают нас и все опять будет наше. А Датчане и Шведы, изначально обделенные ресурсами будут охринительно так мотивированы - мол давайте хлопцы захватим себе ресов чтобы нам их обнулили.

  8. Попытка втулить идею № 654 Националам убрать возможность захватывать корабли, т.е. возможность есть, но после захвата корабли идут в адмиралтейство. Пиратам убрать возможность крафта 2-1 рейтов, возможно и 3х. Но дать возможность захватывать и брать под свое командование любой корабль. И с возможностью выставить их на продажу. Какие плюсы? 1. Уникальный геймплей пираты\националы 2. Увеличится ценность однопрочковых\захваченных кораблей. 3. Реалистично - да, играбельно - да. 4. Пираты перестанут быть зергом. Хочешь сложного, уникального геймплея - Добро пожаловать в пираты. Боишься трудностей - вали нахер в другую нацию. Пираты должны быть пиратами, а не "Залупляндией".

Lo que les ha pasado a Daneses, banderas falsas a las 3 am. incluidas, ha provocado que gran parte de la faccion abandone el juego. Esto se va a repetir, mejor dicho: va ser la norma, como estamos comprobando. El caso es que se decidió hacer un comunicado y, como no había otro gilip**** cerca, pues me lo encasquetaron a mi. Voy hacer un borrador, comentar-corregir lo que queráis pero a mas tardar esta tarde, tiene que estar hecho para traducirlo y ponerlo en el foro general. Aviso que todo está dicho en los hilos y no voy a entrar en razones, simplemente voy a comunicar la decisión de los aliados, Creo que es lo mejor. Después de muchos intentos por solucionar el problema de las night flips, viendo la pasividad de los Dev's en este tema y el reciente abandono de múltiples jugadores veteranos de la facción noruega, los clanes firmantes de este comunicado deciden: No acudir a cualquier PB cuyo comienzo sea posterior a las 24 hora del server.   10. I loved UGG and was very impressed how much effort was expended to improve the game engine after its successful release. There are lots of developers out there (Battlefront hint hint) that take a great game engine and just clone the game over and over with a different battle or set of units. I figured you guys would go down this same path and I probably would have bought a game or two before tiring of the engine. Instead, you folks did something extraordinary and instead of the cheap way out, placed a real campaign layer on top of a great tactical engine. For this I am both pissed and thankful. Pissed as it has sucked an enormous amount of my time. Thankful that for the $/entertainment value that is unrivaled. Now that I have buttered you up. I look forward to the 3.0 release in 2018/19 when you have moved from a static to a real dynamic campaign where you move troops across the country at strategic level similar to what Graviteam does with their Operation *** WWII sims:} Until then, I plan to spend many hours playing with this new toy.

  11. All I can say is that I am sick and tired of "screening". I play this game to have battles, not sit in empty port while watching points tick up, because enemy fleet can't get in to fight us. In what historical setting did a battle outside of a port prevent the fleet from attacking the port after the battle? Did the admirals in question go, "Oh shoot, it'll be outside the orders the admirality gave me! Better sail back!"

  12. Yo soy de la opinión de que si esto es un server europeo, que pongan horarios de ataque y defensa europeos, como bien han dicho entre las 12h y 24h. A quien le guste y le vaya bien, perfecto, a quien no pues que se vaya a un servidor con su franja horaria. Lo de las batallas a las 3/4/5 de la madrugada es un disparate, en su día lo hice varias veces, pero entonces te das cuenta de que un videojuego te está condicionando tu propio tiempo libre, la cual cosa no es nada bueno.

  13. Yes and no.... Should port battles be queue based using lobbies? No conquest should be open world based and require open world sailing to actually conquer regions (or ports) Should lobbies exists? Yes! Lobbies should exist so people can enjoy the game without the need to sail in open world. Some people come here to play the game simply for the combat experience, and they should be allowed to have that experience without being forced to sail in what they would consider a "boring" open world.

  15. Screening, not night flips, is the problem. This is a simple matter of population imbalance. Screening was fine under the flag system, because the defending nation had to move super quickly and did not have 80 screeners. Now, the smaller alliances simply cannot penetrate the zerg.

  17. The problem with screening is that you need 20%? br so you can screen huge fleet with grey shit ships sail around hit sails and tag ppl griefing them into a shit fight nobody enjoy. If the screeners need to commit a real fight with a real fleet ,i would not mind be screen out and not reach the pb if at list i get a good fight after 2h of sail/organize and 2h for farm that damn port: I HAVE A VERY EASY AND LOGICAL SOLUTION FOR THE DEVS: Each port: will have an area like capitals green zone where inside such area the br needed for tag is 50%? 60%? That way ppl need to committ a real fleet And OW will not be influenced by such high br needs for tagging, all happy ps: the devs choice to reduce overall br of ships by 33%? not helped also since firstrates went from 900 to 600, that helped minor ships since their br is now more near to the big one so you need way less for tag a firstrate fleet then before. And the absurdely large super circle of tag not help also

  18. Yep hats off, great win for the Span/Dutch/French/Dane conglomerate, 3 ships down and pulled off a top win. We blooded alot of captains in the new PB so lots of learning if no actual victory to show or indeed tight fight. Well done all and thanks for the biff

  19. I see a bad data for the cannons. You changed the damage for all cannons this is the only cannon that have less damage the medium than the long version. Base damage for medium 6 pounders is only 30. For long 6 pounders is 38. Medium 4 pounders 38 and long 4 pounders is 35. I think someone introduce a wrong data for the medium6 pounder. It should be arround 41.

  20. Пусть лучше адмиралтейство/пиратский барон без всяких сложностей выдает бесплатные корабли - куттеры, бриги и церберы. Но если теряешь этот корабль - теряешь часть опыта от звания. Как раз замедлится прокачка, а для кого-то возможно и вовсе станет бесконечной - это же здорово. Заодно эти корабли почаще будет в море видно.

  21. 1) 2 min no attack timer: Once you are plopped back into open world you cannot be attacked for 2 minutes. It doesn't sound like it would make a huge difference theoretically, but having 4x the amount of time (currently 30 seconds), will make screening harder as the attacking port battle fleet has more time to position, sail, join port battle once out of a screening battle. Screeners, in theory, should get 1 shot at stopping the fleet, maybe 2 chances. I think making the no attack timer 2 min would significantly improve the odds of a fleet to making it to the port battle and significantly decrease the amount of times fleets are attacked heading to the port battle. 2) Being able to join the port battle from a much farther distance from the port: Once you are in range (a certain distance away) of the port, you should get an option in the upper right hand corner of the map to join the port battle. However, you should also start in the port battle at a farther distance from the capture regions based on where you enter in open world. Slightly off topic but i think its important to mention: 3) Conquest has to be slowed down significantly: Individual ports should be captured not entire regions at a time. Flipping entire regions with tuns of ports makes conquest way too fast.

  22. Doesnt change much, because you still will get screened by some random shitfleet outside of that circle most of the time. 100% agree. Its just so forced and prone to abuse and exploits. Do you have an idea for a solution to fix this stuff (apart from shipbalancing)? Check solution 2. This way screening = getting hostilty = PvP zone and the actual PB is the big final (on the next day, lobbybased).

  23. Мне как то вариант 1 прочковых кораблей не очень. Больше даже не потому что придётся больше крафтить, ерунда, а потому что при меньшем количестве оставшиеся жизней у кота, его яйца становятся всё мягче и мягче (не проверял, честно, хаха). Кароче люди будут больше бояться терять свои корабли, следовательно меньше драться на смерть, следовательно меньше хороших боёв, а это самое главное в этой игре.

  25. Entiendo tu argumento, Eishen, de este post y otros, pero creo que no tienes en cuenta algo importante. A muchos de nosotros puede fastidiarnos más una batalla a las 13h que a la 01h, pero al estar todos, aliados y enemigos en similar franja horaria, a una parte del enemigo le va fastidiar lo mismo que a mí, por lo que hará presión para que la batalla sea en horario "punta" y todos saldremos ganando. Y si la batalla finalmente es a las 13h...... pues todos jodidos. Con el sistema de LP, las inconveniencias son de una parte, mientras la otra solo tiene ventajas. Torrados vamos a terminar .

  29. I agree with you. The current model of this game is unsustainable. Night fips/day flips aside, even just the current model of unlocking ports by grinding PVE missions is unsustainable. It's getting old very fast. I personally didn't mind the old lord protector system, It was definitely more exciting seeing the Spanish pull a flag on Las Torgtugas at 1am and the US scrambling to find the carrier or intercept the fleet.....only to find out it was just one guy named EL LOCO. There needs to be some happy mix of both systems, but I'm not sure what.

At the moment......... maybe in some days you will be alone, and you will have all server for you......... I hope you will be fun with a game made just for you..... At this moment about 85% are european and 15% american and australian people.......... Don't lie please....

  33. (I don't know if on the right forum, but it feels like the right spot.) I might have come across as a bit overinvolved and a bit too emotionally attached (to use terms that have less negative connotations) to the game and its communities. I just want to see a game that is fun (again) for eveybody. I also understand why people react strongly to my points (sometimes). Most of them because they care just as much about the game. (Yes even you, @JollyRoger1516) Especially with the current stress caused by night/dayflips (across all timezones). We are not there yet to iron out the problems. But some steps have been made. But what I am trying to say is: I want to try to change my tone to a (hopefully) positive and constructive tone. i know I have a bit of a negative reputation (I'm not going to react on if it is valid or not) but nonetheless I want to try to be positive and constructive in my comments and feedback. Take this statement for what value you want to put to it. I know some may try to troll this post to try my resolve. Don't worry, I will not react on your good/bad attempts at trolling. I for now will not go beyond some basic gameplay (farming/crafting), but I will be around (ish). Give me a poke if you happen to catch me online if you want to have a pleasant and friendly discussion about issues or just soundboarding ideas to improve the game.

  36. И "да", и "нет". Смотрите в КО были 5 прочек для расходных кораблей, ну Тяжгерк например (возможно ошибаюсь). Как правило делали несколько купчих, чтобы было 10-15 прочек. Чтобы взять нужные фиты на борт и идти воевать вечером. Ну удобно было с точки зрения геймплея. Если бы было 1 прочка, то был бы АД. Тебя убили, мало того, что марок не получишь, так еще тебе плыть из крафтового города на новом корабле. Допустим в Испании это была Гавана (ну у нас допустим). Если столкновение в районе Гуаники, то плыть определенное время, пока твои сокланы ждут тебя ))) или воюют. А теперь представьте сколько вы будете плавать, если будет 1 прочка в Наваляшке!? Время плавания в море резко возрастет. Сколько будет стоить корабль, если нынешние фиты про швах дорогие из-за крафт-нот.? Будете ли вы фитить корабль? А вылетел из игры? Будут рвать волосы на о.ке каждый третий сейчас. И каждый после вайпа, при условии неизменности зафитовки кораблей. Да, вырастет ценность корабля. Вырастет долбанная "историчность", но играбельность какая станет? Т.е. вышел тебя разбили и пошел крафтить в столицу? А потом поплыл в Ла Навасс? Ну бред же.

  38. Archage, lineage, bdo, bns, swtor и некоторые другие. Это - ММОРПГ в которые я играл,и ни в одной из них топ шмот/оружие/ранк без задротства в 50-80 часов онлайн-часов и помощи клана ты не получишь. Каждая из этих игр имеет механику в десятки раз сложнее NA (даже древняя линейка). А те, кто хочет просто пострелять на часик-полтора... Для тех ММО- сессионки: WOWs, WOT, WOWp, TW:Arena, For honor и т.д. там нет открытого мира и вообще игра не об этом. В своем сообщении и предложении ты путаешь эти понятия. Безусловно, новичкам нужно дать возможность, чтоб они смогли развиваться, могли научиться сами. У нас уже есть зона для новичков, осталось сделать туториал внутриигровой и какой-нибудь учебно-сборочный кораблик. Где по пунктам, "за ручку" с ним самим, игроку построят кораблик. Меркурий,к примеру. Он поймет механику добычи ресурса, механику постройки корабля, скорее всего, механику торговли. А построив тот же мерк,еще и вкратце ознакомят с управлением корабликом с прямым парусным вооружением. Но это уже обучение, а не экономика. А насчет экономикии... У нас ее пока нет. Даже обычной,не говоря уже о рыночной. Пока на серверах NA - cобирательство

  39. Считаю страховку не нужной затеей, так как она будет обесценивать корабли. Если и делать ее то только для новичков, до ранга командор-капитан и с себестоимостью серого корабля. По прочкам уже говорил, 2 прочки на корабль оптимальный вариант, если ты просрал 1 по глупости у тебя еще будет шанс вернуться в бой, чем больше прочек тем меньше будут ценится корабли. По сути твоя схема эта схема даже не страховки, данная схема больше подойдет для содержания кораблей.

  40. Since you posted the Screen I'll do the post off it. Castries Lineship Port Battle - 23 Pirates (24 at last moment) vs 25 Dutch/Us (17 Dutch/8 Us). The brits brought a fleet to screen and I heard it was over 10 ships per count and I'm not sure how many US/Dutch didn't make it in as we did have a count of around 10 ships for the US. We had a group of Danes and French show up for screening to help us. We had good wind and as soon as the port battle started we capped A and than split our grouped for about 5 going one way "C" and the rest to "B" as we saw the forces split close to that on the other side. We captured three points and there was some broad sides exchanged near the end but all three circles where capped out to 1K points and the Pirates where able to hold the port. Wind was in our favor, but than we didn't pick the port battle time so that was on the Dutch of when they flipped the port and they could of came into the battle from different points to get better wind. I want to say thanks to the none BLACK pirates that showed up for the defense and to Storm Crow and Steel Rat that popped in at the last moment to just do the port battle even though they don't play any more. WE have no clue who TurgidOne is as we never seen him before. Though we suspect he's prob one of the PvP1 French players or former brit player. And a reminder to Axl CHANGE YOUR CRAFTING PERKS NEXT TIME. Duncan was board fit and forgot to reset his officer for boarding too. So don't fell bad. We got into a habit to tell every one to check your officers before you exit for battles. I'm not sure what the prime top number was but we hit over 170 during the port battle time when you rarely see it over 100 any more during our prime time. I think this would get better if we could fight more in our prime time. Though nice to see that many online.

Отдайте города сообществам, и пусть они там трутся, строят корабли, устанавливают налоги, пошлины, запретные к ввозу-вывозу товары (привет контрабанде) и борются за влияние на "население" с другими сообществами путем поддержания города ресурсами, патрулированием местных вод (потопление противников в зоне влияния города, защита города во время портовой битвы), сообщество-хозяин может также повышать свое влияние строительством и улучшением зданий. У меня были планы написать простыню по портам и портовым битвам, но мне уже за три года начинает надоедать писать в пустоту - видимо куда проще создать свою игру, нежели убедить разработчиков с их сомнительным видением игры что-то изменить. Сейчас все это есть. Значит надо облегчить крафт и онлайн поднимется?

  46. this game was only lobby before u even know of the existance of naval action. was beautiful and balanced. then some noob asked for open world and problems begin to happen. btw i dont want to turn off open world or rvr. im only asking for Port Battles Lobbies to solve the problems of this aspect of game. no other lobby , only port battles

LOBBY PORT BATTLES, EASY. no need tunings, join from every national ports, first minutes join who raised hostility , then every1 else. for open world fanboy: go get ganked or gank in ow pvp event, we really need some balance system or lobby battle. stop timesink, exploit gank, log in log off, alts shits ecc...
