Captains, we have checked this account, the character was created at 2016-02-17 11:27:56 as a Britain Captain with the same name Sully and according to logs that we have Captain have not recreated it later. We will provide an option to join PB in case a Captain joined PB by mistake and left it right away, so another Captain will be able to take his slot in the battle.

  2. As requested by multiple nations, the US will be hosting a Diplo meeting on US TS this Saturday 1/28 @ 15:00 GMT (10am EST). Members from every nation are encouraged to show up, I am posting this here on National news so every nation is aware of the meeting. Prior discussions between some of our nations have excluded some members for various reasons and this aimed to be an all or nothing show. As promised in another meeting earlier this week, This will be the US attempt to TRY get the ball rolling towards a healthier player base and help ensure the longevity of the game (despite the devs best attempts to end it..). This will also be the only attempt by the US to bring others to the table, should these talks degrade into the usual history lesson on who did what, US players should play on PVP2 bullcrap, we will not initiate and participate in any future meetings of a similar nature. This is it boys and girls, show up and put your money where your mouth is or stop whining on the forums. Your opinions and general whine will not be listening to on this thread, please don't muck it up with bullshit. PM me through here or in-game if you have any observations to make or need the TS info. ps - I have no idea why those #2s are showing up or how to delete them...

The biggest issue with pb is not how we generate them, but the fact that : OW beside pvp events, ow pvp is almost dead beside screen actions so the only ships ppl use in pb is agamennon and 3 firstrate anything else have no reason to exist. Again as long pb is: just bring your best ship possible for the cathegory having 4 ships or 600 will make no difference. What we need is a pb system related not to the slots but to the BR or pb with composition limits, a tot of first/2nd a tot of 3rd etc etc This will give space to compositions space to newer players, and more deep tactics then 25 aga vs 25 aga or 25 vic vs 25 vic.

  5. I am glad there is some impetus to try to get us talking as a community instead of as factions. I would suggest, however, that the recordings be made public for the following reasons: 1. If you are speaking for the community, the community deserves to hear what is said. 2. There will certainly be more than one recording made, and at some point it will likely leak anyway. 3. It prevents the "he said, she said behind closed doors" nonsense. 4. It will likely encourage delegates to ve more cooperative as it is for posterity. 5. Should you have a list of proposals for the Devs, they will likely want to see how they were arrived at.

  6. There is no threat. I'm sorry if any of you interpreted it as such. Most RUS/RDNN RvR players left already. And it happened long ago. Some of us are still playing to keep our clans alive. The fact that ports were lost is a consequence, not a cause of it. Right now mechanics mean we cannot have good, equal fights anymore, so rather than sit around and wait people will be playing other games for now.

Given my fixation with immersion and playing "a character" in all games I come to suggest the following, which I hope become a feature given their usefulness for any player, so inclined to use/parse the long information into a Captain's Log. The transaction log ( what I am talking about ) includes the trade and the winnings and if i'm not mistaken are generated also client side. Fair enough it has a bit of information. What if logs would also include ( on top of the financial data ) - Mission assignment ( if any ) - departure from port X > days at sea > arrival at port Z - latitude/longitude of encounters - any interesting engagement data, like total amount of men lost/recovered by doctor When exiting the game give the option to save the log or checkbox to save it always.

  8. It has come to my attention that the horrid tactics of attacking different time zone nations feels like its destroying the game... I'm one of a few aussies that play on the denmark/norge nation and although i realize i am unable to make most port battles because of my time zone i try to do my part for the nation. But recently I've notice a large US force taking advantage of most of my European mates at times were they are asleep and i am at work causing grief and getting port battles that suit their time zones. Now this is fine for the US, it is their prime time and why shouldn't they enjoy it while they are in maxed numbers. But i feel the grieving is forcing the dedicated denmark/norge players to stay awake to horrible hours of the morning during the week nights only to be met by a handful of frigates one night and mocked then meet a full 1st/2nd rate fleet on other nights to be a disgrace to the game. 25v25 first rate battles are intense and are the pinnacle of this game with the most risk and most at stake with only 1 dura ships and to me this is what makes this game I propose port battles to be held on weekends so all time zones have a chance to participate. I also propose that a screening fleet should have to patrol a greater area then directly out front of the port, i feel that you should be able to join a port battle from a 6 square radius from the port to give a good chance of meeting an even 25v25 port battle because lets face it a half full port battle is a waste of everyone's time.

  9. I would love to be involved, listen, stream and or contribute, however, its 2am on a Sunday Morning for me. I know where I live and have to just 'rub a brick on it' and 'be teddy tough'. I am very supportive of the initiative and would love to hear it recorded so I can hear the nub of the conversation. I implore everyone to enter as a gamer and not as a national captain.

  10. For my money, GameLabs made a huge mistake when they used the word "clans" for national groups of players. They should have called them "squadrons". Pirate clans maybe. National clans - no way. "Clans" gives people funny ideas about operating as independant militias. I can't believe that actual green on green conflict within a nation would have ended well for those who decided to go rogue. Monarchies didn't tolerate independant thinking by factions within its colonies. The scenario quoted above is a rebellion, and would have gotten your group branded as pirates or seditionists under a death sentence. Not saying that what you're describing wouldn't be enjoyable. But IMO if NA is to allow warring clans within the same nation, we'll have to drop the pretense of being in the historical Caribbean and just drop it into an alternate reality setting.

  11. I said this before and I say it again, unless ships have specific roles to play in PBs people will only bring the best ships of the highest rating. Make it so capturing or destroying the towers on land are important and you just gave the mortar brigs a roll to play in port battles. Make it so capture zones are in shallower waters where only 4th rates and below can enter and you just gave 4th rates a roll in PB. Make it so only 5th rates and lower can get close enough to the towers to board them and capture the towers and you just gave 5th rates a roll in PBs. Also, want to see more variety other than Agamemnons as the 4th rate of choice? Then either buff the Connie and Ingermanland or Nerf the Agamemnon.

  12. Мне кажется, правых и неправых тут нет. Охотники за головами прикольная фича, которую тяжело ввести, но если ее введут и это станет частью общего гемплея будет круто. Однако для работы этой самой фичи, нужно изменение существующей механики, а то и совсем новая. Это не значит, что в датском королевстве все хорошо и ничего менять не нужно. Это значит, что на тот момент пока сами разработчики не уверены какой будет система гемплея, пока они проводят тесты широкого спектра, вводить такую механику сегодня действительно не приоритет. Другой вопрос про играбельность. Совершенно согласен, что игрок не имеет цели. Нет клановых войн. Захват территорий ничего особенного не несет, даже ощущения того, что ты что-то захватил или потерял. Игре необходим здоровый конфликт, на фоне которого каждый игрок ставит перед собой индивидуальные цели, а каждый клан стремится к чему-то осязаемому.

  13. This is my view as well.... a group of ten people doing missions for an hour should NOT be enough to trigger a PB... It should be a National effort that takes days, if not longer... But people are addicted to PB's... maybe "Raids" will help solve this?

Сейчас один линейный корабль способен противостоять двум фрегатам, линейный корабль и фрегат способны противостоять трем-четырем фрегатам, два линейных корабля могут прогнать пять-шесть фрегатов. И то, все эти оценки взяты по минимальной планке. В какой-то мере от продольного огня могла бы спасти нормальная реализация команды brace - игрок жмет на кнопку, в течении ~ пяти секунд все падают-прячутся, затем корабль не рулится, не перезаряжается, не чинится, не откачивает воду, теряет preparation, затем игрок пережив залп в нужный ему момент отжимает brace, в течение ~5-10 секунд все возвращаются на посты и возобновляется управление кораблем. Никакого пятиминутного отката после этого не нужно.

  17. PvP2 is interested as well. Our server is probably in a dismal state right now of stagnation and population decay. We planned a meeting starting two weeks ago scheduled the 29th. Since our population is unbalanced our focus is more on servers current state and attempting to find a reasonable way to have players return and population growth in the smaller factions. Also to end wars in a more diplomatic manner rather than what we have now which has brought us too much bad blood in the water. One rule of our meeting I did not see you have is to not discuss anything about individual clans, bring up the past, or attempt to avoid discussing about individual factions as much as possible. So best of wishes that your meeting is successful from PvP2.

  18. I think it depends on what is actually going to be talked about. If this talk covers diplomacy between the two alliance blocks on future interaction then I think that in no way should the conversation be immediately released for public consumption. Those kinds of meetings often use "diplomatic tactics" to get the agreements made. It provides to much fodder for trolls and will cause discussions for the following weeks about decisions already made. The time for the general player base to involve themselves in these discussions is before the discussion with their national leadership/diplos. Now, if this meeting is simply to find a solution to various issues in the game in order to provide a united front to the admins then I don't see the harm in letting people listen in, as long as we are all joining the discussion as friends and not adversaries.

  20. Good point. Well presented. Asking for clan on clan wars I haven't thought from historical perspective, only from pvp gameplay. However your comment have made me to change my mind about that. Thank you. Giving it more thought I now believe that good PVP mechanic will allow anyone to attack anyboby. But attacking another player from same nation triggers game driven consequences, e.g. Criminal tag, hostility, Coastal patrol agro etc. It is a criminal act. Clans from same nation should not be able to declare war on each other, when it comes to clan politics. Same goes to clans from allied nation as the crown will not tolerate that.

  21. There is a big difference and I am going to tell you what it is just in case you still don't get the point here. Alliances are as follows: - Spain (majority Spanish), Denmark ( mix of scandinavian/russian players), France (majority of French) and Swedish (I guess a good mix from different countries) - US (majority from US), British ( another good mix of different countries, but about maybe 60-70% european people) and Dutch (majority of dutchs) Now, as you can see, the brits outnumber the rest of nations combined and the key point here and what you don't understand is this: One alliance can attack and defend at any time while the other has no chance at all to attack or defend at that particular time because people from european countries are sleeping. So, we can deal with Dutchs and brits during day times, but we can not deal with US, aussies and other timezones attacking our ports while we are sleeping. As simple as that. So here we are. The US players are setting port battles when we can't defend. I know it's not their fault but as you can understand the main problem is just that. Let's see this: Spain set a port battle the other day at 15,30 server time, if I don't remember wrong..... Well, everybody can understand that this time is absolutely imposible for the US players to show up, but (and this is a big BUT) their allies can. Dutch and brits can play at that time the same as the Spanish players did. Now, the US players set port battles at 3,30 server time (4,30 am here in Spain). Tell me how can you expect to organize people from european countries to wake up and fight? Well, some probably will show up, but you can't count on people doing that as a regular basis everytime there is a port battle and it's only a matter of time that people consider this as a waste of time. Imagine this situation: Spain/Denmark/France and Sweden fighting with european brits and dutchs during our "normal" hours and, at the same time, dealing with US/aussies and others in that timezone taking from you what you were fighting for during our "normal" times. If you can't see a problem considering the long term here....... Do you understand now or you need more explanation? What we have now? Port battles during european times can be full and there is fight. You can lose or win, but at the end of the day you just had a fight and that's fun for everyone. But nightflip port battles are mostly absolutely unballanced and even some may be empty on our side. Is that fun for anyone? I don't think so.... The perfect solution: US, aussies and people in that timezone fighting eachothers. I know, you won't like it, but there it is.

Players started leaving back then already, but the officers of both clans worked very hard to get our players port battles that would keep the game interesting to those remaining, and to find ways to get our fleet into equal, fun and challenging fights that would keep our friends from tiring of the game. Since then screening negating fights and nation imbalances has become worse. There is more work for more people to activate fights - more than is worth it - and less chance that when you log on and go to a fight you will actually get one.

War suppliers -check Logging in on the crosses -check Attacking usa at 3am - nothing! Attacking the USA on Bullshit non aggression xmas- nothing! Attacking the USA when they fell out of broken alliance system - nothing! Being attacked at 3am by the Americans - GIVE US AN UPDATE NOW! It's not fair!! What I don't understand why didn't Danish allies defend their port? Oh yeah that's right you claim no-one was online just 300 Americans!!

  24. It was a good idea until the regional "resources" became decisive combat advantages that overwhelm player skill (or at least are perceived to). Resource wars should be about fighting for economic resources, not combat bonuses that give you an edge over other players. Giving combat bonuses for regions just reinforces imbalance: we take all strong hull regions and now it is even harder for anyone else to take them back, etc. The better model is regional competition for economic bottlenecks like silver, copper and gold. If one group takes all the regions with a particular resource, they are then spread thin to try and defend them all, while at the same time the other group can resort to smuggling and commerce raiding to gain the resources, made easier by their enemy stretching themselves out to try and control all producing regions. I hope you all so realize klooth that your trolling, constant insistence in EU only servers and general douche antics on the forums and in this game is one of the reasons you're in this situation.   26. The ability to flip Ports is far too easy and happens far too often they definitely be PvP generated. Flipping a Port should be more of a "Campaign" style thing wherein you have to conduct multiple operations spanning days to flip a port. Hell id even argue there needs to be a fleet engagement on the seas before you unlock the RvR at all.

  30. Where did all the Dutch Care Bears go? Well in this story 4 nations thought they would fuck the Dutch nation over to 2 ports setting zoutman and las aves to timers of 2-4am whilst ganking every dutch noob that left the capital. Can you guess the result? Floods of guys left or switched and when the hardcore Dutch stayed up to attack those those ports at 2 am how many enemies did we face? Well a single figures is the answer, if only those 4 nations would of considered the result of those actions then. Im afraid you do indeed reap what you sow, you may have a somewhat valid point but when you wield the big pointy stick don't expect sympathy when you poke yourself in the eye with it.

  33. I agree with you, except for your solution. Portbattles are the only content for RvR atm and making those weekend only means that theres not much to do on the other 4/5 days. Another solution would be to balance the US playerbase between the 2 alliances, so that both sides would have players online at all times. This way everyone can have Portbattles at their primetime (well except for the server downtime, but theres nothing we can do about it). We have the alliance system to balance things out, we just have to use it.

  36. Two servers in different time zones and BOTH have the same PB timer restrictions (which restrict the Mountain and Pacific time zones from any RvR during their prime time).

  37. When new players join the game for the first time, they are presented with the choice of nations to select from. At this point they are informed some nations are harder than others, and there are hints about who is fighting who. This information is inaccurate and very misleading - and really needs to change to reflect what is going on with each server. It is also a prime chance to help balance nations going forward with incentives for players to join nations needing new recruits. Back when I first joined, I selected the Pirates as I expected it to be hard - only to find the Pirates ruled most of the map - and I rerolled within a few weeks to France.

Meanwhile "for the sake of the playerbase" didn't seem to be a topic of discussion during the 7 war supply drop, the 3 points at once attack on the US a month ago, pushing the dutch down to one region, US down to one region multiple times, 1st rates into 4th rate battles...blah blah blah. Insert any number of grievances. When your side is winning, all is fair. When our side wins the mechanics need to be changed. This shit is getting old. The Danes fucked up over the holidays. They tried to negotiate with the US and force them to give up their advantage in this game under threat of losing a number of our ports, including our 2 main crafting hubs. Your arrogance led you to believe you could bully us into giving into your demands, you chose poorly. You pissed in the wrong fucking guy's cheerios. I told NorthViking in our meeting that there would be repercussions. Well, here they are. We expected you guys to last longer than a month. Guess not. Please note we have not used double or no show tactics against other nations during the evening and we don't plan to. I told North that we would beat you. It seems we have. Prior to Klooth joining our TS last night to hash things out, I was a little sympathetic to the Danes and their situation. He basically told us that the danes are going to take their toys and go home because we're not playing fair enough for them. Danish RVR is dead or so we've been told. We'll see in the next couple days here. I thought better of the Danish nation honestly. I didn't think it would take one night to break them and have them go cry to the devs to change things. I'm honestly disappointed. I quite frankly have no interest in fighting empty port battles. If the Danes stop showing up, we will stop. If they offer some form of official surrender or public apology for their treatment over the holidays we stop and they get their strong hull port back. Agree to our terms, or don't. I don't care. The US will not be changing alliance partners and will not limit our attacks to just the weekends. You come at the king, you best not miss.

  40. This is a good thing. Besides a bunch of unhappy campers who have just gotten a very large dose of- what's the addage? Ah, yes, THEIR OWN medicine, this means guaranteed action in the coming days. A ragtag effort of everyone we could scrape together at the time took an enemy nation's primary strong hull port, which was located a stone's toss from their capital. And for at least 4 days (providing the first battle for it is not ended in our favour), it gets to fly the stars and stripes. I CANNOT imagine the horrifying retribution coming our way for this insult. It's going to be massive, and it's going to be fun, because it's going to mean lots and lots of fights. Real fights, mind you, not ones on the forums. Attend those as well as you've attended here and you may keep your ports next time, my nordic friends.

  44. Сколько раз предлагалось -введите мушкетеров (стрелков), хоть как АОЕ, и пускай отстреливают экипажи проходящих по корме. Ну а если бы еще дали возможность их улучшать, тренировками, новыми более дальнобойными мушкетами, или возможность распределять их по кораблю и по местам и т.д., это был бы большой плюс игре. К сожалению, услышали "мы сделали, но не можем визуализировать". Никто не просит прорисовывать каждого, от ядра след остается, а нарисовать над бортом и на парковых площадках что то схематично, типа цветной полосочки по краю борта появляющийся при вызове стрелков для стрельбы, это очевидно очень сложно. Жаль.

  45. Интересно было бы увидеть это видео. Пока же мне кажется, что определение понятия "грозный корабль" у нас расходится. Для меня это понятие означает, что опытный кэптен на этом корабле способен прогнать несколько более слабых кораблей. Вы же, как мне кажется, понимаете под "грозным кораблем" такой корабль, на котором любой новичок или идиот, совершая множество ошибок, будет способен победить.

  46. I like the idea of reloading different decks with different charges, balls and chains at the same time. It just makes sense. But I also want the display of gun reloading icons to be vertical (left for port side and right for starboard), no horisontal. Sometimes it confuses the hell out of me, especially in the heat of the battle. Same goes for the ship icons. I normally look at my ship from stern side, so having ship diagram displayed vertically on left and right for the enemy would actually make more sense too.

  47. в игре много нерешенных проблем и в геймплее и в графике, но конечно же самая важная проблема - это раскраска третьего рейта, как её поправят я сразу вернусь в игру, так как с нетерпением жду именно того долгожданного дня когда у 3-го рейта будут белые полоски в районе орудий, постоянно мониторю эту ветку, она у меня в топе закладок
